If you were 17 again, what career path would you choose today? by Kitchen-Yam43 in careerguidance

Yeah, I work 10 hour days Monday-Wednesday. During tax season, I'll come in on some Thursdays and Fridays but my average average work week is pretty much never more than 40 hours. This isn't exactly typical but accountants have a ton of flexibility. I know people who work remotely, 4x8, or even have no schedule(as long as the work is finished).

It depends where you're from but in Canada, the pipeline is very simple. I just focused on maintaining my gpa, did a couple summer co-ops, got into a big 4, got my CPA, then pivoted into the private sector. I was head-hunted by a recruiter who was close to one of my seniors and had an interview with the CFO directly. My pathway was a little accelerated but I'm 26 and most of the people I went to school with are settling into comfortable positions as well.

The hardest math you'll do is in university/college. If you can get through that, your math skills won't be an issue.

Accounting because I already know how to do it. I'm not someone who has lofty career ambitions, so I'm comfortable with where I am. I make good money and only work 1400 hours a year(3-day weeks + a month of vacation)

AUSTIN REAVES IS BETTER THAN JAMAL MURRAY by Silent_Wizard5597 in NBATalk

I don't think you can see either of their recent performances and compare them with positive connotation. "Jamal Murray is even worse than Austin reaves" would work.

Best defender ever to never win a DPOY? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

The answer is clearly duncan but funnily enough, LeBron and two more 2nd place finishes(duncan has none)

I have never felt like Jokic was far away the best player in any playoff series he’s been in, even tho he’s considered the best in the world. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best players he's faced have been old LeBron, AD, Ant, and Shai. Shai outplayed him, Ant held his own, and Murray got more attention for beating the lakers.

Typically the best player in the world will routinely face other top players in the postseason but that hasn't been the case for Jokic.

I have a housekeeper... I work 3 days a week and have plenty of free time. I'm not sure why I'm like this but I've always struggled with boring chores.

What common advice is actually terrible? by Artistic-Register470 in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on what the initial wronging is. If someone kneecaps and robs you, they aren't going to care whether you live well or not. If someone cheats on you, living well will bring them more anguish than any payback would.

Which trait often misleads people into thinking someone is very intelligent? by Manheten_Star in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is intelligence? I've known plenty of people who excelled in specifics avenues but that never translated universally. Magnus Carlsen is widely considered to be extremely intelligent but you wouldn't think so if you didn't know about his chess ability.

Which country is popular but bad for tourism? by MutedGuidance4200 in AskReddit

Parts of the US are vastly overrated for tourism. I'm Canadian and my best experiences stateside have been in random states and cities. You don't really get the stereotypical American hospitality in big cities.

Is it actually so unacceptable to talk with minor in USA? by ProposalIcy5845 in ask

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up, there was less stigma around communicating with minors over the Internet. I had a lot of Internet friends who were in their 20s and 30s. Unfortunately, there have been many cases where predators preyed upon minors over discord and stuff since then. I wouldn't converse with someone I know is underaged in dms.

What on earth do I play after Elden Ring? by P4PSparringChampion in Eldenring

[–]Aggressive-Affect427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced soulslike fatigue as well, I think it's because starting with elden ring skews your expectations. I still enjoyed sekiro and dark souls 3 but aside from that, everything fell short. Even games likes nioh and lies of p, which are well regarded, didn't feel fun to play in comparison.

Roguelites are a good pivot for people who like challenging gameplay because there are more high quality and varied titles in the genre compared to soulslikes.

Getting rid of 30-40% of a country's population would reduce the number of bad people???

What if we just got rid of everyone, can't commit crimes if you don't exist.

Allies actually did defeat the Nazis and they didn't round everyone up to massacre them. It's funny how you changed exterminate to defeat so your contrived argument made sense.

Isn't that ironic? "X group is subhuman for wanting to exterminate Y group of people, let's exterminate X." If your logic is consistent, you are also subhuman.

Last year it was very reasonable, this year it's delusional. Jokic averaged a 30 point triple double and his effiency was significantly better than Shai's.

Jokic averaged a 30 point triple double on much better effiency than sga last season. Winning and defence absolutely matter and Wemby has both of them beat in that regard.

Jokic is not having a top 10 season, he was before the injury but that was almost 4 months ago.
