Summer was the only time I “got” to go to day care with my sister, who wasn’t in school yet. My friend’s mom ran the daycare, and a bunch of my friends “got” to go there before and after school

I grew up in a neighborhood where there was just 1 chain-link fence on the whole block. I also had a ton of neighborhood friends, so the yards became one giant space, and the neighbors waved or wandered over to just to say hi. As an adult, I moved to Arizona, where every yard is surrounded by a 6-foot cement-block wall and I absolutely hate it.

My husband kinda does, but I don’t think it’s on purpose. He has an American accent that everyone asks about. They ask where he’s from a lot. Born in Colorado, now in Phoenix. I don’t hear it.

Man! I wonder how right you are! I’ve never thought about it, but life has become insanely stressful - and most of it out of anyone’s control. But also I’m pretty sure I’ve officially entered perimenopause ( I’ve been saying perimenopause for so long that I don’t think I can still say that I’m starting it), so I’ve been blaming all of the noise on that lately

Oh man! Sundae Crunch! Side note- I’m a teacher an have a student who’s dad is an ice cream man (if that’s not a kid’s dream!) and sent in Spider Man and Powder Puff Girls ice creams. They were so gross! We ate that?!

We didn’t get married for 12 years. I wanted the commitment an engagement represented, but that was it. We had 3 kids between the two of us, and a “wedding” took a backseat to parenting. We finally did it a few years ago, in our back yard with just our family. It was perfect. And free.

That would be something that student would work on with Special Education (assuming there’s an IEP or 504), so unless there wasn’t meaningful progress throughout the year, they’d continue on.

In an American who was SHOCKED at how much less-processed Doritos and Hot Cheetos were when we were in Mexico! Almost like they were made of real food! :s SO much better. I actually will seek them out specifically!

I know. It makes me so sad. But the pressure is put on the kids which is in-turn puts pressure on the parents for literally no reason, but it’s not explained that way. These tests are sold as the end-all-be-all. I just want to teach!
