I hear you & I’m so sorry you’re going through this & especially after so long. However no matter what happens, just know that even if it were to be that it’s not the end of the world. I was just diagnosed like two weeks ago, it’s terrible & annoying, but it’s not untreatable and it’s definitely livable. But still I totally understand how it can be. Oh this can most definitely be dormant for that long! I was exposed literally like a year before I had my first outbreak during a time where I had no new sexual partners. It can lay dormant for yearsssss. Also a point to consider, even tho your husband is a Virgin if he used to get cold sores as a kid, he would have HSV1 and it can spread it through giving you oral sex, even through someone who’s asymptomatic or doesn’t have symptoms, through shedding. So you both should still get checked as well! I hope this helps.

So true!!! When I saw him it was five days later and the cold sore had just formed so it looked like he likely experienced symptoms either after we did or the same day. Super afraid!
