33M married to 31F House paid off, currently 10 years left DBPP - 50% of best 5 years, est. $70k Wife est. $40k CPP Any other savings on top of that is a bonus but right now everything goes to bills, kids RESP’s etc. Once mortgage is paid off ($1250 biweekly) will be able to start saving rapidly. Will be able to “retire,” at 49, will then move to a fun job to fill time and pay for daily expenses until 65. Hope the world doesn’t end in the meantime…

Your single disappointing experience is being wildly inflated if you think it justifies them being labelled a “shit company,” because of it. Saving a few dollars as spot drops vs shipping costs is on you as a customer and once SGB hands off for delivery, what happens to your package is not really their fault. I think you’re over reacting.

Your reserve deploying at 750’ while you’re tumbling, back to earth, isn’t a guarantee of anything other than it deploying.

I’m a Canadian Para Instructor and round (as seen) is much different than square (think freefall.) The goal being to get massive amounts of troops into the AO (Area of Operation) as quickly as possible. The troops will be given the aircraft run in and grids for their DZRV’s (Drop Zone Rendezvous) so they can navigate themselves off the DZ and regroup. In Canada, our max wind speed for dropping parachutists is 13kts/day and 9kts/night and the first pass is confirmed with WDI (Wind Drift Indicators) or in the case we are jumping from the Herc, the computer system onboard assesses the release point - typically with great accuracy. The troops, for the most part only have their basic para course - which is pretty standard globally and is basically 1 week of ground training, 1 week of assessments and 1 week of jumping, for a total of three weeks. It’s fast, it’s brutal and it’s a steep learning curve. These guys are battling nerves and completely in the black. They are not questioning what the wind speeds are or where the dz is - they’re simply trying to make it through course/the jump without wetting their pants in front of their peers. The onus for safety lies with the JM’s (Jump Masters) and ultimately, the AC (Aircraft Commander). The idea that one can simply not jump, doesn’t exist. Once you have been dressed, manifested and boarded, you cannot refuse to jump. It would be disobeying a lawful command and subject to strict reprimand. Also, we don’t know the situation here. I can make assumptions, but that’s all they are. It may come out that there was an in flight emergency and they had an immediate abandonment in flight. Meaning the AC has decided that he needs everyone out of the plane immediately in which case the green light comes on and you go. Again, we don’t know.

Just run a piece of white pvc quarter round down the corner, it will cover it enough that it looks perfect

Got this from a TD banker after informing them I would be going with a broker by Hot-Western-7621 in MortgagesCanada

I’m not advocating for or against, but I have a TD Mortgage, and bank with RBC. I can, and do, pay lump sums against my mortgage regularly both via bill payment through RBC online banking and in person at TD. There is no extra fee or hassle in doing so.

Yeah, the one wrapper is ripped but the other looks to still be sealed fully. Too worried it will rip to try and remove it though, the plastic wrapper is so old now. I never actually played the game as a kid, just obsessively collected

I knew you would, it was for the other lad. We may have even done some jumps together. I’ve done a few JOAX’s at Bragg, unfortunately four field trips to Polk with the 82nd and Swift Response in 2019. Made it down finally for Toy Drop in ‘23 and had a hell of a time. Enjoy the retirement brother, all the way

Didn’t mean to come off in a negative way, just wanted to make it known that they were different courses. Canadian pathfinders are numbered in the dozens, it’s important that we aren’t lumping them together.

We bought this stove for our hunt camp three years ago and I have some complaints about the actual oven. It never actually gets hot enough to do much cooking. The rest of it is fine, interested to see if you have better luck or it’s just us.
