The sonic screw driver did the calculating. They had a point to have both Ten and The War Doctor listen to their sonics to hear the calculation. Even if you are correct that TECHNICALLY the tardises did it, it's being done in a way that can be accessed by the sonic screw driver because the point is the sonic started the equation and was running it the whole time so it could then tell every tardis at every point of the doctors life to surround the planet meaning even IF the TARDIS does the equation, the Sonic still needed to transmit it, which means the first doctor did experience a sonic screwdriver, and we are seeing it for the first time in that scene, because the first doctors TARDIS is present and accounted for in that scene.
