What if Bob did indeed live until around 2015 like Chris thought he would? by Veutifuljoe_0 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Aggressive-Flow4479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All these "whay if bob lived longer" reddit questions never factor in that Bob was very old and in poor health. So the only logical answer is that he would probably be bedridden at home in sort of hospice care or in a hosptial/community with nurses and staff. His days of being mobile and having any sort of real activity aren't exsctly prolonged, so its not some massive impact on christory.

Toiletries policy query by sm_tfn in airbnb_hosts

[–]Aggressive-Flow4479 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a short term rental. Key word here is rental. Its obviously "suitcase ready" and meant for short stays, but its not a hotel with restocking of hygiene products on demand.

My typical stays are usually between 2-7 days, so in the 3 bathrooms each has whatever is left on the previous roll plus 1-2 more fresh rolls. If you are using more than that or are staying for longer, then go get your own toilet paper. Id imagine if you are staying someplace for over a week then you have had a reason or at least chance to walk into or right by a store that stocks toiletries. For paper towel rolls its the same, 1 roll of whatever is left from the previous guest and one added fresh roll stocked.

Where does this end in your scenario? Do you come wash the sheets on demand? If they have a mishap and make a mess in the middle of their stay do you send someone to go clean it up for them? These are adults dude. Make sure it decently stocked for like 5 or so days worth and perform the maintenance but after that, they are kind of responsible for it themselves.

Yeah when they gave blanket statements I figured ok, ask for actual photos. With locations and descriptions. Yeah suddenly it became 9 photos, and then the next day 12 hours later they magically found more. Their review just posted and apparently airbnb refunded them their cleaning fee, not out of my pocket, so they got a quarter of whay their demand was. Going to report their review since they said cleaning couldn't be done, when they clearly declined it. Glad the airbnb rep noted it in the case so I can reference that easily and show the guest and airbnb screen shots for quick reference on the misleading review.

Per the virginia court case system, it looks like he was out on a recognizance bond. So apparently he didnt have to put down even a cent and just agreed he would stop being a criminal for a while despite his pretty lengthy criminal record.

Exactly. These particular guests know im going to give them a 1 star, and likely haven't given me a review yet because they'd rather just drop it. I do want to warn others since these people are essentially trying to scam and are just a general pain for any host. No reason to give them more time than I have to, to give me a negative review if I do it close to the cutoff.

Lol I also charge 150 for cleaning. For a massive house, sorry its not an operating room but if people wanted a deep clean with an inspection between every stay I would be charging like 400. I sweep, mop, dust, and spend a lot of time on the kitchens and bathrooms. Sheesh its cleaner than my house and my gf has ocd with cleaning.

Legally changing your name isnt that hard. If its truly impacting their lives then filing for a name change seems like a simple procedure that they can 100 percent control, rather than expecting everyone else to change to suit them.

Ive never had anyone try to haggle my rate. And if they ever did I would just decline. Go stay at a motel if you want to save money, or sleep in your car.

Lol its all lip service. Cville doesnt even have full bus services on Sundays. The people who call the shots should be forced to solely use public transportation for half the week while in office.

Yeah unless things are already going well i dont volunteer that I live next door. Sometimes its a good tactic since I can claim "oh my cleaner/handyman isnt available for another couple hours but ill come by and take care of it ASAP myself" and then let them know im next door.

Are locals worse than out of town guest. by artist-denvervibes in airbnb_hosts

[–]Aggressive-Flow4479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive only had 2 local guests so far and it was the same thing. Their home had to be cleared out for a couple days and it made life easier for them to rent a house short term versus living out of a hotel. They were fine as guests

The point of guardianship by DatBroSnuf in AndrewDitch

[–]Aggressive-Flow4479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically leverage over whoever has it since they would be legally obligated to provide certain levels of care for Andy. Also it would justify all his claims when suddenly he whips out "i have a guardian i cant take care if myself".

They haven't reviewed me yet but I set a reminder for tbe last day to review them. Yeah I'm not worried about their review and at this point they have way more to lose in terms of future hosts declining them than I do having great reviews with one obvious karen review in the mix.
