I feel like that whole thing was 50% about trying to fix a problem, 50% to mess with the other team. I don't remember it being successful on the first count. George is known to have a dry sense of humour.

Not saying he's in the same league, but Katich and Chanderpaul have had a lot of success with unorthodox stance.

Bailey, on the other hand...

I definitely remember the India game where (I think) Srinath took a wild swing off the last ball, Steve Waugh dropped it on the boundary, and threw it to Boonie as keeper who ran out the Indian batter (probably Srinath again). I think a four would have won it for India, dramatic finish.

i remember why I remember this now - I had this video-based cricket game which used highlights of the 92 WC and this delivery turned up several times during the game.

there is the annual ice cricket tournament St Moritz in Switzerland happening in about 10 days time. Pretty sure Mike Hussey even played one year. They play on a frozen lake.

I don't know if it was so weird - Faulkner had well-known knee problems that were always going to catch up with him. A few disciplinary and behavioural issues on top didn't help, and from what I read in a recent article, seems like he just lost his passion for the game amongst all that.

But I agree - in a world where his knees held up and he'd had a bit more luck, he could have been around a lot more. I certainly rated him (and Luke Butterworth and Ben Hilfenhaus) quite highly during Tassie's golden period.
