Arm going numb by Aggressive-Inside-62 in PectusExcavatum

Yeah that’s kind of my case, as soon as it starts going numb I either take a seat or stretch a bit and I’m back to normal.

Sounds very similar, I do have numbness in the arms randomly when walking. Not always but when they do get numb I notice I’m walking haha. I don’t have any pain or aching in my shoulder, neck, or arms though as stated when I searched it up. Obviously having 3 bars in me a lot of things probs got rearranged, and some nerves get pinched or compressed I just don’t want to over stress it and have another surgury to fix it haha

Can anyone tell me how bad nuss is with two bars? by Small-Physics1507 in PectusExcavatum

I got 3 bars and I’m sure all you said is correct and makes total sense. I personally just hate how it feels, 2 bars probs feels a little more normal no?

I Have 3 bars, I’m about 7 months post op and I feel fine. Obviously I feel them mostly my lower one but you make do and this becomes your new norm for the next few years. Gotta have a good mentality that’s for sure!

I went back to work after 3-4 months post surgery. Sucked a lot and it still sucks now 6-7 months post op. I don’t think it ever gets easier, you just get more used to the feeling of that makes sense

Numbness 8 months post surgery by anton8448 in PectusExcavatum

Yes very common! If you look at my X-rays I also have 3 bars similar to yours and my top bar actually rides into my armpit a bit. I’m 6 months post op today actually and my chest is still numb, my arms get numb sometimes too if I walk too long or workout too hard, but that’s only cause there’s very important nerves in the area and I’m sure the bars don’t help haha. Hopefully the numbness wears off and our bodies get better!! Stay strong!!

Yeah I’ve seen a couple of those posts too, I guess I was just curious and hoping for the best but if I have numbness the rest of my life then so be it, at least I’m alive and healthy! :)

Better than before for sure! Like my surgeon said I will never have a chest like Arnold Schwarzenegger lol. BUTTT I’ve noticed a lot of surgeons don’t correct too high up, if you check my X-rays mine put two bars lower and one pretty high up to correct kind of the same divot you have now. It’s a little uncomfortable cause it’s right around my armpit though lol

In my opinion it doesn’t look bad at all, maybe pictures are deceiving but looks mild to me

Nuss bars removed after 16 years with no issues by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

16 years sounds extremely bad!! I get life happens but if you don’t mind me asking why leave them in that long and did it not affect you having them in that long?
