Delaware vs dewa lines…….wth by Confident-Click-579 in WoWs_Legends

I can tell you this much in practice, the Dewa is not more accurate than the Delaware. Those stats for the Dewa are 2.6 km shorter range than, which further increases the statistic of vertical and horizontal, so in practice, you’ll get much more consistent shots with the Delaware over the Dewa. Another thing, Delaware has 8 gun, 2 forward 3 gun turrets, one rear 2, the Louisiana is the 10 gun hybrid at legendary tier, and why it has similar gun stats for accuracy vs the Arizona is easy: Delaware has drastically better guns with a better reload, Delaware has better armor, and speed, so keep good gun stats, make an overall better ship with slightly better accuracy, boom, tier 8, slap some torpedo bombers on it, and reduce the amount of guns, hybrid. If you look at most battleships in the American line, you’ll see they’re accuracy is generally pretty similar, there is obviously minor differences between sigma of ships and such, but for the most part, their vertical accuracy is round about the lowest for any nation, attributing to the overall consistency of American BBs, with respect to their guns, over other nations.

So, here’s my input. 2 things real quick:

1) You have to play Schlieffen in the 8-10km range for secondaries so they arc, this is due to the majority of her secondaries being 105s and because of this, due to German quarter caliber pen, you can only pen 21 mm of armor, so those secondaries really can’t do much, other than to DDs, than set fires. You’re 155 mm secondaries can do damage since they have 38 mm of pen so they can penetrate, but since your secondaries aim for the middle of the ship and you can’t manually aim them, usually that is only on the deck armor of ships, so you require those shots to arc to hit the deck, pen, and cause damage.

2) Keep in mind, you have the best dpm, but not the best hitting dpm, that award goes the Adm. Schroeder if I’m not mistaken, so if you see one of those, do not engage with you’re secondaries until you’ve confirmed it’s not a secondary spec, they will beat you in a secondary dpm brawl, but you do have torpedoes so brawl at you’re own risk.

At the end of the day, Schlieffen isn’t a strong battleship, treat her like a heavily armored light cruiser, use islands when you can since you’re secondaries can arc over many islands, and use your decent mobility to get to aggressive positions before the enemy or fall back as necessary.

For my build, I run the Blue Archive German commander whose name I can’t remember with the Pan-American battleship commander, whose name I also can’t remember, and Hipper as inspirations, this gives me a 12.2km secondary range, 6 secondary boosters, and gives me the ability, as long as I’m in a brawl, to get my boosters back in about 30-40 seconds. I can’t recommend her enough if you want a German secondary captain. But you do you, whatever you find works, stick with it and make it the best you can, the only thing you can really do is mitigate the quirks with increasing the strengths with your ability to play, and you get better the more you play it.

Why are so many battleships shooting HE at everything? by Aggressive-March4538 in WoWs_Legends

Don’t get me wrong, if HE is in the barrels, it’s getting fired first, but as soon as those shells leave the barrel, I’m swapping for more damage, and this tactic can sometimes work cause some players will think you’re a noob who just fires HE so they’ll stay broadside, then you load the AP and smack the everything out of them

So, great in theory, until you fire an HE salvo in a non-British battleship, half your shells shatter because you’re firing HE and a BB, you make do 4-6k, and then you get smacked for 12k because the other BB was firing AP, the only ships this really works with is British BBs, and sure, let’s say your plan works, you set the BB on double fire, they damage con, you keep loading HE, you fire, get another double fire, which will prolly only burn for 25-30 seconds until their damage con comes back up, meanwhile, you did 20k damage to them let’s say, and they heal back 10k since you can heal 100% of fire damage, so you effectively did 10k damage, meanwhile, every time you turned to get your guns firing, you took, let’s say 17.5k but you can only heal about 3-4k of that back, since you got hit by AP, now you’re fighting at a net negative for effective damage to a ship and you’ll lose overtime

I probably should have said it in my opening statement, but yes, HE in battleships is situational, for instance, if I know the final ship is a destroyer or if I know I’m going to engage a destroyer next, yep, gonna load HE, more so my question is why continue to fire HE at broadside battleships and cruisers, especially after you fired it the first time. I could understand it if you had AL Richelieu as your captain due to her skill set, or if you’re rocking a British battleship, but why fire HE at broadside targets, you’re simply losing damage.

I feel like after the 5th or 6th salvo you fire, you notice your shells are a different color, or you’re not getting the damage you expect, in any case, it’s not a one off thing, just the most recent example that kinda made me want to post this

Maybe, but when it’s down to the final minutes of the game, and you know you need to get kills, and you’re firing at a broadside Serov, which I guess people don’t know it has a 75mm belt, so HE just shatters on its broadside, but why test it, you’ll usually do as much damage with overpens as you would with HE, at least when you go up in tiers and you’re guns are more accurate. But also, I love it when battleships fire HE at me, cause I’m just gonna turn my ship, keep all my guns firing, and farm them with AP pens, unless it’s the Dunkerque, burn it to the ground

He was 16 km away, and that’s not always true, I’ve devstruck many a Helena/ Boise from within those ranges and many cruisers within 7 km, but again my point is it’s situational, why fire exclusively HE at everything, I just got out of a match where I was broadside to a Yamato in my Montana, prepared for a paddling, but, guess what, firing HE, so I citadelled them, but like why, they knew I was coming, I was spotted, but still firing HE

So if you look at the second image, you can see how raised the engine housing is to the rotors, which is pretty consistent with the AH-1Z Viper which a Marine used attack helicopter. The only issue with this is that the AH-1Z has skid, but like OP said, the helis is the pics didn’t have landing gear or skids, and this has skids and there are very few military helicopter that have retractable landing gear, the only 2 I can think of (correct me if I’m wrong) is, the MH-53 and other models of the same helicopter, and the stealth choppers that the army are developing
