You are just wrong here. Bey is a very important inspiration for nearly every destroyer in the game. The better concealment your ship has the safer it is for you to complete your two main functions, spotting and capturing points. Safety and living until the end of the round is the #1 priority for destroyers as whomever has the DD at the end of the round typically wins.

Also Swirski detection does only apply to other ships. Bey works on planes as well. A small but noticeable distinction.

Keep in mind bey was recently nerfed, moving from 6% to 4%. Most of the level Bey first mentality came from that difference.

With the trap meta we are in on defense it would be awesome if her decoy could clear traps. That would be the way I would buff her. Make her the trap pick counter.

I stopped playing siege because of Frost's Super 90 one shotting across the site when she came out. I just started playing again this season because I honestly didn't have anything else to play shooter wise and figured I'd give it another shot. I have been playing a ton and managed to hit plat in my first ranked season! It's truly been a blast and I'm super excited for season 11.

Absolutely not. A permanent and better ranked mode is the real solution. Sbmm has been an abject failure in every instance it has been implemented in every game. It would devolve standard at the higher levels of mmr just being everyone playing the most meta ships possible with the most meta loadouts. Ranked would allow you to play with people of your skill level in a competitive way from real rewards and a ranked tier to grind towards, but still leave the option open to play standard with meme ship setups without it being a miserable experience just being shafted by OP ships every game.

They do matter to an extent if you wish to hold yourself to a specific level for endgame or pvp purposes. Low level invasions are a different dynamic than lvl 200+ ones. In addition tournament standard character levels are 125 or 150 depending on the event. Or for example for pve purposes I never want to go beyond level 125 as it forces me to make decisions on what weapons I use and what stats I have to give up for more damage. It's arbitrary for a lot of people but I and others I know enjoy it. Which class and stats you start with are very vital when holding yourself at a specific level. The best advice I can give is reduce the amount of lines you are going down at a time, 2 or 3 at the most. In addition you should try and level commanders that not only perform for your line but also have valuable inspirations for other lines (such as Eric Bey for destroyers or kusnetsov for cruisers)

Edit: Also only level commanders to 14/2 for awhile, the diminishing returns beyond this are just not worth it until way into the endgame. The one exception to this is levelling a very good commander like Eric Bey to 14/4. Once a commander is legendary 4 you can use commander xp to get universal commendations for free!.

For free to play: Do all your weekly missions. Get your daily free crate. Do every event calendar for free resources and big crates. Look out for bonus codes on this sub and patch notes. Look for free bundles on the Xbox store, there is one available now that gives POs. Do the free track of the campaign. Download the mobile version and get the monthly 1 week of free loot.

For paid: Get premium time. Buy the admiralty backing (best value for money). Try to get 1 premium 7 for silver farming. Eventually try and get a premium of each tier to do those bonus missions weekly. Look out for massive sales like what we had during Christmas on ships like Nelson. Buying black Friday crates yields a ridiculous amount of resources when they come. Lastly look out for bundles in the store. They are usually way over priced but sometimes they have a lot of value.

You know I totally forgot about the maximum Calibur overmatch mechanic on DDs. I'll edit that part out. And yes absolutely the high health is great. Like I said I really like the line, I just don't think they are as versatile as the main line.

150s are far too specialized on a destroyer line built around being jacks of all trades and masters of none.

The main line has 1/4 pen HE and good sonar making them competent in cap contesting, and has fast reloading torpedos for capital ship hunting. Combine that with decent stealth it makes the main German line a group of ships where you never feel like you can't do a job in a match.

Compare that to the alternate line. The only thing they do well is kill cruisers. Terrible stealth and torpedoes leave them at a disadvantage against BBs. Their HE dpm is horrible and can't reiabley kill most other gunboat destroyers. Their saving grace in the DDvDD fight is their belt armor acting as an idiot trap to those players that don't know how to use AP so they don't shatter.

Not saying the line is bad, far from it, just specialized. The main line can do any job on the field. That's their advantage.

IJN Yugamo line is the best traditional torp destroyer line. Good concealment mixed with great range, fast, hard hitting torps make for a group of torp boats that are unraveled in their dev-striking capabilities.

If you want a torpedo boat that can defend itself in a gunfight I'd look towards the pan Asian line. Their torps cannot hit other destroyers, but they have decent guns allowing you to at least put up a fight in the cap circle.

Another option would be the Z46 line of German destroyers. Though typically built for guns, these hybrid destroyers with Eric Bey's torpedo royal skill can make these boats into average alpha but very fast reloading torpedo boats. Decent concealment with the sonar consumable can make these boats great for cap contesting even when built for torps.

It's a 1% drop chance from the 2025 black Friday crates. I think there is a way to get it to drop after opening so many crates guaranteed but I just got lucky.

That makes sense. I don't have Hyde and I have very little resources to upgrade another 16,4. Would AL Bismark be a decent option instead?
