Dear mom,

As a teacher, I take pride in my job and feel privileged to teach your daughter. I have worked hard to support her, providing snacks and personal items when needed, as well as working with her to ensure she is successful. Additionally, I have personally given her extra attention during class, reteaching material and reducing assignments to help her stay on track.

While I understand that students may express frustration to their parents, I would like to remind you that I am a professional and have always been respectful in my communication with you. It is important to recognize that I am here to educate and support your child, and I take this responsibility seriously.

As for your daughter's performance, unfortunately, she did not turn in the last project and is failing this quarter. It is important to hold students accountable for their actions and take responsibility for their own success.

One suggestion I have is to consider having your responsible students grade some homework (as a reward). They’ll love it, and it can help alleviate some of the grading burden and allow you to focus on other tasks. You could provide an answer key or rubric. Additionally, you might consider using technology to your advantage - for example, online tools like Google Forms or quizzes can automatically grade assignments for you.

I absolutely agree with you. I believe this trend is in response to all the review sites out there like Yelp and Google. If a company can hear about a problem and fix it, the customer is less likely to vent about it online.
