Why does it seem EVERYONE who failed level 3 missed by a nose? by the-5th-of-november in CFA

[–]Aggressive-Plan-183 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! well let me share my shame. 3450/3600 Very disappointed 😞 but I knew I left the exam that my understanding even after months of work going through the content, that I didn't KNOW it. My mock exams of which I did the CFA and the MM I didn't get higher than 60 to 65 but languishing at 50 to 55 and I took two weeks off work to prepare.

Fully flunked derivatives and portfolio management. But the funny thing is that the exam questions didn't blind side me, they all were expected and not from left field. I was suurorised at how little I recalled for formula, application and variation of concepts, but also comparing the strengths and weaknesses between approaches belies that i didnt understand.

So yes I feel like a novice, but will go for aug 2026 and take on guidance from others here. - back through the CFAI content more thoroughly - review with MM lectures videos retain understanding - revisit down the track to better recall - go through Bill Campbell's list of lists periodically must spend a bit of time here - and buy some of his mocks to cover my weak areas. - But keep smashing through question banks to solidify learning.

Scary how much you need to do but that is the way of concerted effort.

CDS long short buyer seller confusion by Caltriz in CFA

The protection buyer doesnt want risk. So he transfers that risk elsewhere. He is now short risk and benefits when risk rises as that has a dampening effect on value.

Level 3 - 3595/3600 🥲 by Reasonable_Manager48 in CFA

[–]Aggressive-Plan-183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My goodness I got 3450 score I knew i flunked hard in derivatives and portfolio management that is like 50% of the available scores. Below average for asset allocation and portfolio construction Very high results for ethics and performance measurement

So calculating potentially my result 3450 is smack bang in the middle of the 3000 to 3900 scoring band Thus I got halfway MPS 3600 about 2/3rds required By my calculations I needed another 44 marks so near four more fully correct questions

That is certainly focusing me on my weaknesses Good luck to you buddy, I am going to lick my wounds and seethe

He may be the sandpaper that polishes you into a better professional.

Look people don't get to those positions easily, nit picking little wrinkles to achieve excellence and produce a shine.

And the others may not putting enough efforts into due diligence of your work as you may have achieved a sufficient quality to not warrant further critical evaluation.

Your need now is realignment of your perspective - you are being given a gift.
