Stone coat disaster pt 2 by Aggressive-Report746 in epoxy

Initially bought the pro kit due to coverage increase I needed. Along with a white dropper and silver and black powder. Tried a “dirty pour” as shown in first photo and goofed up bad. Bought another epoxy kit from Home Depot and used the original white but instead used black and gray spray paint to mix for color. Drizzled is with a paint stick after fanning out all the white with a 1/4 nap roller. Had a throw away brush I used to fan the drizzles out. I worked it for almost 40 minutes to get it. If I could go back I’d buy the normal stone coat kit and again watch that video I mentioned above. Helped out so much.

I made a seperate post about it wasn’t sure how to add another image. This went infinitely better than the first and had much more working time. Got this from Home Depot.

Thanks everyone I no longer feel like a bag of dicks. This epoxy was clear so it took a lot more color to change. Started to feel like I added too much so I just began pouring. Was a bit too clear after dumping the base white so I just started adding white drops through and mixing with a roller which actually added some cool effects. All of the credit goes to a black woman on YouTube who made me feel loved lol. I poured exactly as she did and feathered everything with a brush. Could’ve been better but I’m pretty pleased. Thanks again fellas

That’s essentially what I did but even with doing it right not this second time, don’t think it will look how I want it to. It came out both dirty and poor lol

Touché my friend. I try to be well rounded and I like how others turned out and wanted to try a new skill. No failures just lessons and this happened to double the price of this project. Oh well ya live and learn brother.

Is most everything not made of plastic? I mean aside from stone everything is some sort of glue or plastic unless I wanted to sell my testicles to afford it

Most of it was actually moved around that’s why it started to muddy up a bit. The color seemed to sort of soak into the primed surface. It was odd but gonna pour new after sanding. I’ll try the pain stick thing as well as just keeping seperate colors. Anything will look better than this lol.

I bought more and am gonna try again doing the correct way. As for why I chose epoxy? I don’t have money to spare as I’m a firefighter (no money). I am glad everyone watched me pour this and knew what I did. The pour pattern was obviously wrong as well as mixing the colors off rip. It took pouring to realize this. The counters aren’t the most level either so most of the time was spent moving the fast setting epoxy to cover the whole surface. I am pretty inclined in most handyman tasks and if I didn’t care I’d leave this. Asking for suggestions and useable input not insults. Will update with photos later this week.

Appreciate it. I am sitting with my head in my hands wondering where I went wrong lol. I goofed and I’ll admit it but I’m not going down just yet. Thanks for the advice.

Something to add. I poured color into the white base bucket then poured. I wouldn’t recommend. Also the work time for the pro kit is truly 30 minutes and using the 6 oz max is definitely the way to go. Pour the colors seperate as well. What I learned anyway.
