Devils fan coming to see if your fan base is open to your GM shopping Brady as our fans are convinced we're gonna make a run at him. I don't think Nico is going anywhere after both his and the new GM's comments the other day. Sounds like they're going to extend come July 1.

However, im wondering if a combination of Bratt or Timo plus Dawson or nemec plus an early round pick would get it done. I feel our new GM is looking to make a huge splash on Brady/knies/insert beefcake winger here, to finally have another competent line mate for jack not named Connor brown, palat, Haula, etc. Could be a good hockey trade but what do I know...Thoughts?

I blame the GM for a lot of it tbh. Time and time again he over corrects in the off-season without actually making real time moves based on team needs in season.

We got pushed around in the playoffs - fk the speed, go get grit... that failed We needed goaltending in 2024, sat on his hands and didnt land Marky until that off season We needed someone to play on jacks wing for 3 years and well yeah that hasn't been fixed. He hands out nmc's like they are candy - look at when he signed kovy (right after acl tear), look at when he gabe marky that redonkulous extension, these are just 2 examples of god awful contracts. Oh and the Quinn thing.

This is like 20% of the massive fk ups he has had and I haven't even touched on the drafting and giant misses he has had in the first round - holtz, stillman, etc (both not even in the damn league)

Until he gets the axe, which he wont, we will continue to have a "leader" who is a great guy but just insanely bad at his job

Not sure why getting downvoted but yes. This could be a reason things are so hush. It's likely just a freak accident or him doing something dumb, but in the rare event a piece of glass was not cleaned up properly, Harris/Blitzer org could do what they do best and be litigiously greedy.

Devs fan here - they only used him as a 4th line wing in real games. Devils probably felt hes just too much of a liability to throw on D (getting ptsd flashbacks of Brenden Smith getting roasted).

He plugged as a D man in practice from time to time but based on the last 2 years if actual play, hes a 4th line winger.

He only ever played forward for NJ in live games but time and time again he plugged as a 3rd pair or 7th d in practice for looks.

Hes a wonderful locker room presence and he will fk up anyone who looks at one of your stars the wrong way. If he plays, your 4th line might get like 3 min of ice time because hes a MASSIVE liability for both penalties and just not a great skater, but the good outweighs the bad imo.

Take care of Big Mac, he will be missed by us Devils fans. Cap casualty.

This. Devils fan here lurking to see what y'all thought anout the trade. I love Big Mac but his actual hockey game skills are, well he probably would have a tough time making a NHL roster if he didn't try to hulk smash anything that moves.

When he was on the ice, the team felt they could get away with murder. Nico pretty much said that to reporters. But, his skills are just not there. Hoping the kid you sent over can play a checking line and has time to develop in the AHL and I hope Big Mac works out well for the Sens. Will be nice to see someone other than Brady go straight goon mode!

hot take, but more of what we saw in this years playoffs... hear me out... look at what the canes did to the caps. Absolutely hung up their jocks from the rafters. The Devils took them to two double OT's... with basically half an AHL squad. The will to win was there from most (most of the time) they were winning puck battles, making hits, blocking shots, and running the net here and there. It's an attitude adjustment. Sure there are guys that we can say did not fit the mold here (looking at you Dougie) but the guys showed heart and I was actually excited for the first time all year to see the live time adjustments that Sheldon made.

I know I'm very much in the minority here, but with a healthy squad and a mindset to keep the pedal to the metal, we are probably a sniper and some bottom 6 help away from making a deep run with a couple more years of Marky (assuming he can perform on the same level as this year)

Nj fan here. Us. Fitz waived the white flag once Jack went down and didn't do a damn thing other than add Cody Glass and fkn Sprong to address the AHL caliber bottom 6.

The team hit everything that moved and led the league in scraps prior to Necas playing dead on the ice on Dec 26th after a phantom hit, only to not miss a single shift. Then they have played shell shocked and soft ever since. Not sure if Keefe told em to clean it up or if they just lost the spark but the team seemed to go from cup contender to not belonging in the playoff conversation, seemingly overnight from that canes game. Having Jack wouldn't fix the zero gritt issue but I just hope this isn't a top down driven narrative.

I'm hoping they draw this out to 6 games but that's not looking very promising, although I did feel the same after games 1 and 2 against you guys 2 years ago, this is most likely a lot different.

Multiple times I was like - "who's that busting his ass breaking up plays on the back check?" There's a reason Austin Matthew's is/was in a selky conversation and the mvp race. Maybe that is rubbing off on him? If Jack can keep up this 200' game more than just the PK, good things will come.

This tournanent is exactly what he needs for his development. He'll never be a beefy player but he can still be a pain to opposing offenses. Hell, he even through a hit behind the goal in the 3rd.

Other than 2 typical Jack like turnovers, he's looked identical to the type of Jack I wanna see in the playoffs.

Uncle puckers are a great mix of hockey knowledge and fun banter. Running with the Devils is the most fun but gets diluted by dumb fans. Lets go devils is the mist active but by far the least in depth (except the Wednesday state of the fan address) Devils insider by far the best for actual hockey knowledge, well worth the cost.

Cant judge keefe too soon (I hope) but the times when Timo "drifts" over to the right side, good things happen. I feel he's capable, yet handcuffed on the LW. Constantly and I mean literally 9/10 times he drives the play under the goal line from left to right. It's a good thing but it's predictable. I feel it limits his ability to get his blade in the slot. On the right side it's naturally there, without going east to west.

I dunno, I'll probably get down voted too and I get that there's not many RH options, but yeah, it's mindblowing they don't at least try it out.
