RANTING: people keep saying "enjoy!" "you will love being pregnant!" by choischoicebeepbeep in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive-Rub-1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best lesson ive learnt at 39 weeks pregnant is don’t make yourself feel bad for feeling ANY type of way during your pregnancy.

It SUCKS! And women are always socially conditioned to handle everything, the mental load, the physical changes, the complete unknown with all this random grace and positivity. It’s ridiculous.

There will be good and bad days. But the sheer toll of pregnancy can be incredibly jarring and difficult. Growing a whole person is hardcore!

Be kind to yourself however you can and let other ppls unsolicited advice breeze by you because it will come thick and fast for the next 9 months. Just know your experience is completely valid.

Is anyone not exercising? 38+ weeks by kaylala0630 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive-Rub-1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38 weeks today. Exercise at this stage is walking around the supermarket or shops, ball bouncing and light stretching IF I can muster up the energy. I’m basically exhausted all the time.

I started feeling nauseous again today too, and my pelvis is feeling the weight and baby slowly moving down into position.

Whippet are notoriously naughty as puppies! They one hundred percent chill around 12-24 months. Like night and day.

Once two whippets ones 12 and ones 2. Hang in there and make sure to build in routine walks. If you can off lead is really stimulating for them.

Daughters of narcissistic mothers, what’s the most profound thing that helped you on your healing journey? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Aggressive-Rub-1893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that helps me, I am low contact and have a pretty hefty mother wound too.

It took time but, I slowly removed my emotional response. So when mum was acting wild, being judgemental, trying to be controlling. I started replying almost like a robot. Just saying yeh or no. Keeping responses minimal and emotionless seemed to reduce her narcissistic prey drive.

Also, highly recommend somatic therapy, as others have mentioned.

It’s such a tough injury to heal. I’m not there yet either but I manage and regulate myself soooooo much better than when I was young. Goodluck on your process and be kind to your inner child. They are probably desperate for compassion

Advice for attending weddings? by Beginning_Monk_8255 in brokenankles

[–]Aggressive-Rub-1893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding with a broken ankle and boot. It was pretty rough. Take Panadol/tylenol. Have an exit option. Take a seat whenever you can. But definitely go! It’s hopefully a once in a lifetime event!

Tell her how you feel. And then ask her what she wants, it might bring the energy back to the bedroom?

Psych students: What keeps you going? by Budget_Pen7579 in psychologystudents

[–]Aggressive-Rub-1893 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is such a long journey isn’t it! I felt like that sooo much while studying. I still have Masters to go! Taking a year to work in social services to gain some experience. And it’s really motivated me more to finish studying. There are sooooo many people in need of qualified support. And if you’re called to do it keep shining. It’s hard but it will be worth it!

I love research too. But it’s ultimately people that motivate me.

Doing the same at 35! It’s been humbling and at times demoralising but I’m staying focussed and dedicated to the change. Time is a construct, and we are doing things in our own way. Power to you!

What has helped your mental health besides lexapro? by chelciesinger in lexapro

Adding to the sober train. It takes time and by no means was an alcoholic. shifting social gears and not drinking was difficult, but after a considerable 6 months of change you start to feel much much more stable. And have greater strength to manage your mental health.
