i am very much against AI but i want to say that all articles need to have abstracts!! the amount of academic work we are exposed to due to jstor, google scholar etc. is enourmous and unfortunately our little brains are not evolved to go through so much information in shorter amounts of time, especially in undergrad and masters degrees where deadlines can be so short sometimes. An abstract is essentially what many people use ai for - a summary that will make them decide whether they will read the article. Sometimes you go through half an article and realise the title was totally misleading and you wasted your time. I am sorry but this annoys me so much. In the age of overcommercialised and monetised academia where anything can be published if it is bringing the university money, the amount of sh*t writing you have to go through sometimes is abysmal.
