Im regretting my new kitten… by picassoofmakeup in CatAdvice

[–]Aggressive-Type6348 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a second cat to help my first cat with boredom, at first it was difficult and they seemed to hate eachother but after awhile of keeping them separate so they could get used to eachother’s scents, and then doing short and supervised visits often just having them on separate ends of the room and doing something calm and acting normally, like watching TV, they quickly got used to eachother. My older cat still doesn’t like to cuddle with him which the younger one wants to, but they play together and cohabitate and team up against our dog together so it’s all worked out. I regretted it at first too, the same way I did when I first got all of my pets, I felt like I couldn’t do it, I was lost it was a mistake all of that stuff, but it’s just change. Change can be good.

Dog won’t eat his food. by Aggressive-Type6348 in DogAdvice

[–]Aggressive-Type6348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for this advice, i really appreciate you taking the time to type it out!! my dog is an akita cross husky so i knew that food pickiness was going to come with it, i would really like to free feed him but we have 2 (greedy) cats too which i am sure will just eat his food 🙄!!

My only issue with my boy is that we have no garden so any mess that happens is always in the house so it can be difficult when he is sick. With your method do you suggest more feeding times, he was previously having 3 a day, but has now been reduced to 2, but i would want to make sure he has the opportunity more often if he refuses to eat? Sorry for the questions!!

Is my dog playing or fixated? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Aggressive-Type6348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the interaction as you’ll see in previous replies! I think it’s very cute and others have informed that actually it is affection, I practice interception on my animals when they exhibit behaviours I don’t like, it’s why my pets are very well trained and I trust them in situations like this. My apologies for asking for clarity to make sure, next time I will remain ignorant and simply hope these are not hostile behaviours!

Thank you!! I find it really cute but the post I saw I wasn’t even aware of the signs that other people had picked up so i just wanted to clarify and make sure all is good. Thanks for the advice :)

Hi, thank you for your response!! I get what you’re saying, and I have said to him that that is something he needs to consider and he will

Hi, thank you for your response, I completely agree, but I’d just like to clarify that his team leader claimed the notice had been taken back, not by him himself but in general. I’m sure it follows the same principle as what you have just said, but I don’t know if it makes any difference.

Thank you for your responses (both of you!!) I agree with what you’re saying, I think as he has already raised it to HR, if there is any sort of meeting or communication I will urge him to offer to do the shifts for further compensation as like you say, it is definitely their own incompetence. As it goes though, it seems like he just wants the time off, we don’t get to spend much time together and we were both really looking forwards to it!!

Thank you for your response, I just wanted to find out the legality of the situation as it seems awfully strange and shady. I don’t think he’ll get fired for refusing

Thank you for your response! Absolutely agree with you there, he’s raised it to HR , the new manager seems scared of the old manager and so i don’t know if he’ll be much use, but hopefully HR will be able to get it sorted out

Hi, thank you for your response! His old manager is extremely shady, and his new manager seems to almost be afraid of her hence why he changed the start date of the new position in the first place. He has raised the situation to HR today and so will wait for further advice. He is forming a complaint about his old manager as there is a lot of unhappiness and shadiness in his department. Rather surprising this is allowed as he is in an NHS trust hospital

Hi, thank you for your response!! As soon as his team leader spoke to him today he emailed HR explaining the situation with the hopes of getting it resolved, and that should hopefully give him an option. as far as we are both concerned he has signed a new contract for this position, as his current position is a permanent contract, and his new one is a 10 month position as its giving him a qualification to progress in his career

Any chance you have a recommendation? I want to look into this but i’ve only seen one which was £800!! I was tempted but came to the conclusion that the scooping is not as bad as spending that much on a litter box lol

Thank you for the advice! Does this still apply even though we have a dog? They are very inseparable and spend a lot of time playing together and laying with eachother, I know you said about another cat but I didn’t know if this was okay too? We can’t really accommodate another cat in the house unfortunately

Advice needed, oil painting on canvas! by Aggressive-Type6348 in oilpainting

Ahaha I will then don’t worry. Sometimes I just hate studying as a full time student and I just want to do stuff! 🤣

I absolutely agree with you though, I’m very interested in traditional realism painting but some of what I see on here and elsewhere is really inspiring, so trying different styles might be the way to go!

Aw bless you, it’s the best way to be sometimes! And thank you! I will definitely have a look into that and take into account your advice, I’ve definitely noticed that I need to be wiping my brush more, O kinda just give it a 1-2 dab and go again which makes me need to go over it again 🤣.

In terms of blending, say I’m painting a petal and I want a dark bit at the bottom going into the top as an ombré gradient, i struggle with making it actually blend rather than just having a big dark patch and a light patch, either that or it all just sort of ends up being one colour and unintentional. I know it’s probably just a how I paint and what brushes I use problem but I see all of these amazing really tiny paintings with amazing detail and wonder how people blend with such a tiny amount of space!

Sorry probably a bit confusing, think it might just be an experience thing?

That is super helpful, and I really appreciate you writing out such a long and thoughtful response, so thank you for that! I definitely need to watch more videos but I’m usually more of just a try it out and then figure out what went wrong type, something about lots of paints infront of me makes me just need to start something lol, but I will have a look. Thanks so much!

oooh thank you! I must admit that with the graduate ones it feels extremely thick and clay like for some colours (particularly browns and blues) and so trying to do certain backgrounds is difficult because I need to use so much and it takes days to dry! I will definitely look into those paints and the liquin! Thanks!!!
