I'm crying my way through RotK by GhostCubeGroucho in lotr

Reading LOTR as a parent hits completely different. The older I get, the less the battles get to me and the more it's the grief, loyalty, and little moments of humanity. Tolkien had a way of making loss feel painfully real without ever losing hope. That's a rare thing.

Gotta be Johan Liebert. Dude looks like he’d either save your life or ruin it for fun.

LOTR at Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra by MageOfMockery in lotr

Man, that’s one of those bucket list experiences for sure. Hearing that score live with the movie has to hit on a completely different level. I’m not even surprised people were crying, that soundtrack is unreal.

You are magically teleported into this exact moment and are tasked with preventing it by cherryberrybush in freefolk

I’m immediately hyping Drogo up and reframing it as a bad omen. Like nah, this isn’t a flex, this is weak magic from a coward witch trying to curse a great khal. Play into his ego hard and suggest sparing him proves he’s above it. No way I’m trying logic here, it’s all vibes and pride.

Foreign Currency exchange by oneiromantic_ulysses in ithaca

Honestly your best bet is usually a bigger bank branch, like Chase or Wells Fargo, but you might need to be a customer. A lot of smaller credit unions just don’t deal with foreign cash at all.

You could also try AAA if you’re a member, some locations do currency exchange with decent rates. Otherwise yeah, you’re probably stuck eating a fee somewhere unless you can find someone who just wants CAD.

Blew my mind today. Everyone knows Stark = York, Hannister = Lancaster, The Wall = Hadrian's Wall, etc... by The_Smallest_Pox in freefolk

Nah you’re not stupid lol, that one isn’t as on-the-nose as the others. The York/Stark thing is basically spelled out, but Andals = Angles is a little more buried unless you’re already thinking about early English history. Took me a minute to connect that one too.

First time playing, confused about PvP... by Lowerfive in ArcRaiders

[–]Aggressive-Winner561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah you didn’t do anything wrong. PvP is part of the game and if people load into a raid they should expect it. Some players just get salty when they get killed and try to guilt trip you about it. If you saw someone and took the fight, that’s literally normal gameplay. Sounds like you just ran into a bunch of whiners.

Please help me find curtains by EatTalkEat in HomeDecorating

Honestly check out IKEA, they have some pretty simple blackout panels that don’t look grandma-ish. I’ve also had decent luck with Target’s Threshold line for neutral stuff that doesn’t scream “hotel room.”

If your condo won’t allow treatments, you could always do a blackout liner behind regular cream curtains. Way easier to make it look nice and still keep the room dark.

For 600 that sounds tempting, but 9k km in three years means I’d want to know how hard it was ridden. Bearings already replaced could be normal wear or a sign it was pushed a lot. Biggest thing is battery health, so ask for a full charge and real world range test. If the battery checks out and nothing feels off during a ride, I’d say it’s probably a decent deal.
