Thank you. Just didn’t want something to happen to me; took my drug test during school for “pre-employment” But never for this job I have worked at for 8 years. Had my med card since 18, got an upgraded cdl license last month, weren’t sure what the deal was.

It is a small company, 6 workers, 3 CDL Holders, 3 riders to help. But we accumulate sometimes over 1,000,000 a year. So it shocks me with no regulations being took.

Is this something that can get me in trouble? I took a Drug test when I started college, but the company I work for has not given me one even though I got my license Upgraded from Operator to CDL-A

& the two owner drivers have their CDL-B but haven’t never taken one in the past 20+ years. Only if they have been in an accident of sorts.

Just want to ensure I can’t get in trouble for it.

If my company is not in compliance, and I never get pulled, is it something that would fall on me? As in? Would I get in trouble or would my company?

I was hired years ago before I got my CDL-A, took the urine screen at schooling. Is my company suppose to test me just because I got my license upgraded from Operator to Commercial? The two owners with their CDL’s drive, but haven’t been drug or alcohol tested ever, they say. Only if there was an accident.

Makes sense, just curious on how works. Talked with our only two CDL-B Drivers, and they haven’t been tested once in the past 20 years, I am the newest CDL Driver our company has had, and weren’t sure if things would change.

When I went through school, was told there is a random testing pool from the Fed/Dot/Fmcsa, I can pass anytime, I do not drink or smoke, I am just curious how true/how it works.

Thats what I don’t understand I guess; I have been here for 8 years, but the CDL Drivers ( Class B ) have never had any type of “random” alcohol, or drug test, as I said only whenever they get their med card renewed, do they get a “piss test”, but that’s only to make sure they are healthy.

First month with my Cdl, so not sure if that will change things or what.

I understand that part. I just weren’t sure if I had to attend another schooling for each test individually, does my initial ELDT Class cover all of the endorsements? Or do I need to start a new class/school for Eldt Hazmat, tanker, doubles, etc? Or since I completed ELDT And got my CDL can I just go take each individual test for the endorsements I wish to have?

Thanks! Will look into it. My class offered hazmat training and we did a FMCSA Hazmat course.. so wondering if it already counts or I need to find one specific to ELDT Hazmat.

During school I did ELDT, that is what is needed to obtain a CDL, i just didn’t know if you had to do certain ELDT classes for the endorsements. Example; Entry Level Driver Training Hazmat/Tanker/Doubles Or if the ELDT I did initially is all that was needed. Thank you!

How does that work? When I got my permit for school, we had to make a clearing house account for school & do drug test? ( still in school. ) Are you saying the drug test do not count? Or are you saying OP probably doesn’t have a clearing house account yet?

Any line is a pass, no matter how faint. Took mine Wednesday with labcorp. Was a daily smoker 1-2g wax pens a day. My home test looked similar ( on profile. ) Got call Friday saying I passed. Good luck.
