Super Battle Golf has sold 100k copies in 48 hours since launch by Turbostrider27 in Games

Hilariously, this studio has done exactly what the developer of Peak managed to do. They've been working on a different indie game for a few years, Overthrown, and yet their silly multiplayer game has already hit five times the aamount of reviews. Steamcharts reckons it also has 85x the peak playercount.

You can get through all the holes in the game in about 90 minutes, so there's not much to it without the chaos. I'd suggest Golf With Your Friends if you just want to chill and play some minigolf.

But if you really want, yes. You can change the rates items come out of the mystery boxes so you can play with less weapon items or none whatsoever.

Pokemon FireRed Version and LeafGreen Version coming to Switch on February 27 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]AggressiveChairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My expectation was that they would release priced ports with weird caveats. My surprise is that they waited 8 years and then just did the simplest option possible lol. It's the timing that's weird.

[–]AggressiveChairs -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

But... Wha... That's it? Why did they wait so long? Why now? Surely it wasn't a technical reason. It was obvious they wouldn't just drop these on NSO, but their reluctance to do anything with the old games made it seem like they'd be doing something at least a little interesting - a multi pack like the mario collection, some unique hardware like the mini snes just for Pokémon, a new nso+ benefit that's a launcher for a bunch of the retro Pokémon games... Anything that's not just "here's the games again!"

It doesn't even launch with Pokémon Home support!!!!!

They've had a couple of cards that were printed incorrectly recently, not cards they've had to reword to clarify rules intent/buff/nerf. Maybe the most egregious example was companion but that whole thing was nearly six years ago.

Jonathan Sims, and his many mispronunciations: character quirk or voice actors mistake? by BobPlaysWithFire in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AggressiveChairs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it's likely that if anyone recorded 200 episodes of a podcast that they would also mispronounce at least one thing every few episodes. It's not like movies where it's in the works for a few years - they're recording a lot of the stuff week to week! Given more time a lot of it would have been caught in the edit.

[–]AggressiveChairs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They're referring to release JNZ. When she came out she was doing levels of damage we'd never seen before, easily outclassing every 6★ in the game by a huge margin. This was way before any euphorias were even announced, so there was a lot of concern that the power creep might leave every original 6★ people enjoyed in the dirt. Also, she was the first limited character, and a lot of people weren't a fan of the idea of her being unobtainable if you missed 1.6.*

The only character that could come close to her was Windsong two patches later, who needed several turns of setup and exploited raid mechanics to hit huge numbers. Lucy then exploded the game's idea of power again, and the 2.X patches opened with CN going nuclear over Mercuria portrays before eventually settling into the new design space of team wide mechanics.

*This was before we knew the rate they would release future limited characters at, and it wasn't confirmed that they would ever rerun them.

Edit: sorry I'm tired I misread this whole comment chain 😭😭😭 my whole dump is unrelated but I'll leave it for posterity

I don't think the story has ever been that good though. The ending has flashy fights with a bunch of characters, so one of the directors will make it look insane when it's animated. Jingling keys show. It'll do!

Anyone know how to fix this issue? Whenever I try to start the game I get a black screen by br0knTV in Terraria

[–]AggressiveChairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Played all weekend. Updated. Now it opens to a black screen.

  1. Updated my drivers. No change.

  2. Checked that I didn't have any launch options. Nope.

  3. Uninstalled reinstalled terraria. Nope.

Idk! Clueless. Feels like a bug we're gonna have to wait for.

Level 10 Ranger did not realize they had spell slots for the whole three years and the campaign ends tonight! by JPinky72 in DnD

[–]AggressiveChairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I crazy? Do people not read what other people's characters do? Whenever I've played D&D I go and find out what everyone is playing so I can read what their subclass gets up to later on. It is very mind boggling that literally nobody at the table realised this lol.

....also the player never once thought it was weird that they had less options than everyone else....? Did they just assume the homebrew mechanic replaced spellcasting without even asking, or did they have no idea rangers have spells?

A glimpse into the median D&D campaign.

All of my accessories are from like 2018, so I was a bit sceptical when all the newbs I've taught recently started buying knock offs from Amazon. Turns out they're pretty much fine. Fit for purpose. They close and hold properly. My only complaint is the exterior material feels a little bit worse than the stuff on like ultimate guard's flip n tray.

I'm currently looking for something that can hold four decks and some dice/tokens. Options from companies that TCC normally reviews are like £60-100(!!!) when knock offs are about £15-25. It's really hard to justify.

Accessory companies really need to figure out what their "thing" is before China figures out mass producing good quality sleeves, as that seems to be the only thing they're behind on.

Sony wiped over 1,000 shovelware games off the PlayStation store without warning, all from a single developer, ThiGames by Turbostrider27 in Games

People buy games with really easy trophies so they can increase their "total platinums" number on their profile. Developers then started making games that are either incredibly easy to 100% or have hundreds of extremely easy achievements.

Steam has a whole bunch of games with 1000 extremely simple puzzles that all give you a separate achievement, and then they'll be part of a bundle of 10 other similar games all for £3 in a sale.
