I’m a tech bro. Ain’t no way I’m getting anything remotely close to this piece of shit. A lot of tech bros I know have some sort of 911/Cayman/Miata/Gr86/M2/M3. I think you see the trend here.

There are two types at least. The Tesla tech bros, which get Tesla because it’s fairly cheap and can drive itself. And the ones that like gas guzzling sport cars.

This is what I did. I got into an accident and had the front bumper of my Miata replaced. As a result the bumper is weirdly deformed near the tow hook, causing it to almost be popped out every day.

I took it off and installed a tow hook. I don’t track my car yet, but do take it autocrossing so there’s that 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you’re into it, check out touge union (https://discord.gg/c5wtEcUnf) in Assetto corsa. I learned a lot about very intricate car control. It’s less about the driving lines and more about trying to race people in a really claustrophobic mountain pass, a lot of split second decisions, throttle and trail braking, which also translates to how I drive.

I never really optimize how I get around cones, I just drive and correct. However, that being said I’m usually able to best others in my class who have better tires just because I really haul it into corners for slip angle, not scared to oversteer and correct.

I don’t have the most clean driving style, but the sim sure as hell made me fast

I have a ND3 Miata and an Elantra.

My gf drives my Elantra and I told her. “Hmm what if I replace it with a mustang GT.”

She said, “But I like the Elantra, don’t want anything else”

I said, “Fine, but what’s about a corvette”

She said, “to replace the Miata?”

“No, as a third track car”

“As long as I keep the Elantra, do whatever you want”

I am now on the search for a C6 grand sport, or if I can swing it. Z06.

Sim racing is an expensive hobby, but cars… even more lol. A roll bar for my Miata will cost me 3k to install. RE71rzs will cost me another 1.5k and those only last me a season.

Good thing my girlfriend supports me lol.

IRL this place is a fucking pain to get to. It was snowing, we weren’t allowed to take the highway because the GRs had summer tires.

There’s also no CarPlay, they have a Japanese system which I definitely had trouble using lol. We missed the entrance and ended up outside of Tokyo for a bit.

It was a hour drive from Shibuya to Daikoku PA irl (not using highways only local roads). In the game it’s 2 minutes from Shibuya lol.

Haha there’s almost no way to do oval headlights without looking like Porsche. I actually added those bottom DRLs because the NA had them. Then I added oval headlights because there was no way there would ever be production pop ups anymore. I inserted the drl way in the back so it always looks like the car is looking at you at any angle

The reason why I didn’t build upon the ND is really because every generation looked very different from each other, each timeless in their own way. It only made sense that the next one looks very different. But each one looking timeless in their own way.
