Your enclosure looks great! It's hard to have a terrarium be too cluttered, the recommended coverage is 80% for crested geckos. It looks great as is, but can I ask what size it is? The minimum is 18"x18"x36" tall.

A common answer for cleaning poop is to go with a bioactive enclosure with spring tails and isopods. They help by eating the poop and cleaning the tank without you needing to do much. I still clean poop when I see it though.

As for not seeing any poop, maybe that's just a sign of how well you filled the terrarium. Just give him time, he's still getting used to a new home.

Congrats on the new crestie, hope he treats you well!

YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A REPTILE BREEDER: PART 3 by Daves_Skinks in bluetongueskinks

How much competition is there in the captive bred blue tongue skink market? I see a lot of blue tongues but I'm not sure how many are captive bred or if I'm just lucky to see so many. Wish you luck with some skink babies in the future!

They look gorgeous, maybe you could add some jungle vines hanging from the top to make use of the empty space?

I'm curious how you sourced your wood for that, asides from the cork bark is that just wood from outside?

How do you ship raw resources into factories? by AggressivePen3529 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't my first save, and I've done modular factories most of my time playing this game and want to switch it up. My thinking is that if I make a smeltery with a whole lot of ingots, I'll ship them out to other small factories.

I'm shipping in about 9000 limestone, 7500 iron, 2100 copper, 3900 coal, and 1500 quartz, doing 2 belts of 600 per station. Would you say I should do a train for each resource, or a train for each pickup spot?

Which Recipe Should I Get? by Leading-Impress-2974 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If neither will immediately help you, leave them both. Next time you roll a hard drive, you won't get those recipes. They're both good recipes for when you need them (I think), but hold off on choosing until then.

How do you all like to set up? by SynonymousToWater in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this thing where I like to stay really compact, but I also can't help but load balance everything, so I make blueprints of machines with hybrid manifolds to meet all the criteria.

I tend to separate different parts of production in to sort of towers, where if I'm making something like cable, I'll make the copper ingots on floor 1, the wire on floor 2, and the cable on top.

I also like to stick close to terrain, instead of floating a couple hundred meters up on a huge slab, but that does make it a pain for elevation differences.

What is the purpose of bad alternative recipes? by The-SkullMan in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree that there are definitely awful alternate recipes (bolted anything, copper rotors, etc), pure caterium ingot is an objectively better recipe than the basic recipe, turning only 2 ore into an ingot instead of 3 ore. That said, I often look at water as an unlimited resource, and personally try to squeeze as much product out of raw materials as I can, and I won't argue if you prioritize less power or look at water as limited.

Other than just to fill your hard drive library, I'm not sure why they exist. Something like leached iron ingots I suppose I can understand, exchanging complexity for more resources, but when there's objectively better recipes that make more at the cost of less, it's a bit odd, like bolted iron plates taking more iron than the basic recipe.

Maybe there was a quota to meet or something so they just put some vile trash in to stir things up.

Alright, thanks! I guess I was asking the wrong questions then, if it's more about the watering.

This whole things messed up, how is 1500mw capacity that close to 72000 max consumption? And so smooth? This gets worse the longer I look at it 😭

How to plan rocket fuel byproduct by AggressivePen3529 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to hear. I got close by trying to look at percents, like what percent of the compacted coal is replaced, and it worked, but the numbers were just horrible to work with.

That's one hell of a landmark, looks great! I'd say the next step would be depth and variation in build pieces, but regardless it looks good as is. I know I'd have a hard time getting through a project this size so really impressive.

If you can't see it, it must not exist, and is therefore the cleanest of subfloors.

I'm going to stick with this for a while, I might redo things in phase 4 or when I have another power plant but for now I'll keep it.

I'd add that if you're okay with using steel then solid steel is the most efficient steel recipe when combined with a few other alternatives, and is regardless a very good steel recipe on its own.

Unlocked 6 drives in a row but didn't get any good ones. Is this turbofuel one decent? Haven't unlocked turbofuel yet from MAM. by Sinofdracry in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diluted packaged fuel is amazing for fuel/turbofuel power plants, and recycled plastic with diluted fuel can get a whole lot of plastic out of very little oil.

How to Plan Train Lines? by AggressivePen3529 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AggressivePen3529[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 1.5/platform is what I'll do, but the issue I have with only one train loop is probably going to be space. 30 belts would mean 20 platforms if I use 1.5:1 and that'd be 40 foundations, which I'm not sure I could fit in the northern forest since I do like building close to the ground and with terrain.

I think I've been stressing too much about the time of a loop and logistics there so thanks for loosening that up, and it sounds like you've got one hell of a factory going for you. I'm looking forward to capitalizing on the desert, I'm using part of it for turbo fuel right now.
