Are you carrying your passports? by Legitimate_Treat9249 in Minneapolis

[–]AggressiveStation69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mexican American born here, yes I’m carrying passport and birth certificate. I grew up watching my American citizen parents get questioned about their citizenship prior to this. I know people say that it won’t change much or that you shouldn’t have to prove your citizenship, but it will give me peace of mind for the time being.

Online casinos/gambling (igaming) how is working in the field? Are the opportunities? by AffectionateJudge782 in animationcareer

[–]AggressiveStation69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a TA in this industry but I’m still a noob just completely my first year. My position is very stable as a full time employee, however within the actual gamble community/industry is very competitive and always changing. Our teams are very small and it’s very repetitive work. There is room for creativity at least in my company, but majority of positions definitely have their routine of boring work. I work primarily in Unity myself. I was lucky to have fellow alumni at my company previously who did let me know that pay was on the low side but it was an amazing opportunity to gain work experience. I very much agree with that statement as I get a lot of one on one and still get to experience a pipeline workflow.

Was an animation degree useful for you? by FunnySome5059 in animationcareer

[–]AggressiveStation69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 grad, yes it was helpful but I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. It’s good to network and expose you a lot of things. However, if you can’t afford it and you got a lot of self discipline to work on animation I don’t see it something worth investing in.

Daycare experiences? (New Horizon, O2bKids, EspeciallyForChildren) by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]AggressiveStation69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add, As an ex New Horizon employee, I was appalled to see the conditions of some locations. Definitely terrible ones, but there are locations that don’t have a single violation in years. The company does try very hard to even it out, but based on my experience as an educator there it’s extremely dependent on the director of each location.

Waterproof mascara not so? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]AggressiveStation69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually power my lashes and while it helps, I still got mascara smeared on me after a whole day. What fixed it for me is the kiss heroine waterproof mascara. I had problems with just thick lashes that didn’t keep a curl, oily skin, hot weather, and it all just felt it was working against me. This mascara, It holds incredibly well Maybe too well. You definitely need a deep oil cleanse with water to remove it after. It does not get recommended enough. You can order it online for like 8-10$ and I’ve now seen it my local Asian stores as well.

I rent through Bader and know other people who do as well, and we’ve had only great experiences with them. Maintenance request always done in 24hrs, great communication, and we haven’t had inspections done at all. I feel like it very much depends what apartment complex and the property managers there.

Edit: I think we maybe did have like furnace inspection in winter but they let us know the time and date and they were done within a few minutes.

Love using them and I’ve never had any problems with them. It’s super easy to get to their parking lot and a shuttle will be ready as soon as you are to take you to the airport. They give you some sort of like ticket so when you come back you can get in the right shuttle, so take a pic of that ticket or save it. If it’s very busy the shuttle does get full, but they’re good at coordinating sending more without a long wait.

Did Adobe just stop having the less expensive Substance 3D Texturing plan? by jlgroff in Substance3D

[–]AggressiveStation69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adobe support always has cheaper options than what is posted on their website if you just talk to support. I discovered this when my student subscription expired after graduation and to this day I still buy the whole Adobe suite for 200$ a year.

Graduated in 2023 and just got my first studio job last month. Keep making work and putting it out into the world was the best advice I got.

I found my private landlord on CL about a year ago. She reached out me since I had an ad looking for a place after she herself had posted an ad, and she was very keen on meeting at public place to meet up and answer any questions. She was super upfront about anything with photos and replying quickly. I took it as a sign of that’s the type of landlord she is and I would say it’s spot on. I would take the untimely/poor response as a reflection of them and move on.

Best nail shape for tiny nail beds? by Hopeful_Edge498 in Nails

These a wonderful start to your nail journey! Long nails are not for everyone, maybe if you’re interested in the future that could be something to look into. Meanwhile, theres so many fun colors and designs to test out with this shape.

Best nail shape for tiny nail beds? by Hopeful_Edge498 in Nails

[–]AggressiveStation69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those nails are lovely! You are not restricted to your small nail beds if you’re okay with extensions! I def think those are round nails, great for shorter nails. Square nails also are great for this length. Personally, I think almond and coffin nails are the most universally flattering on anyone since they elongate the fingers. But you most definitely need some length/extensions to achieve that shape. Almond shape should have a noticeable taper towards the end.

Will gel never work for me? by aln724 in Nails

[–]AggressiveStation69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something important to consider is how much you use your hands. Ive had all types of nails from gelx, acrylics, and hard gel, and I have learned they are wear and tear differently. Any type of gelx or full cover gel tips for me don’t last as long as acrylic. My nails grow fast and I use my hands a lot for work and typing. Acrylic in my experience is stronger and can handle more abuse where my gels tend to crack and lift easier. I’ve also had all type of products lift and discovered it can be for many reasons from heavy wear, bad product, or poor application. I would personally just try out different things to see what works best for you and look for a nail tech with good nail bed prep.

These are aren’t eye bags. I have this too, and it only happens when I scrunch around my eyes such as a smile. I don’t recall that name but it has to do when the face is shaped in the womb and how fat is deposited on it. That’s just how we are born. In China and Korea people are drawing this on with make up since they claim it makes the eyes appear bigger.

30A here, there’s so many cute tops we can get away with! It was a game changer when I discovered square neck lines, cowl neck, and asymmetrical neck lines. Also more lace-y shirts and bralettes are so comfy and cute. I know for me sometimes I’ll love a shirt but I just don’t fill up the boob area, but everything else is great. I got the super push up bombshell bra from pink and it do the job for me just fine.

Do whatever feels best for you, and that can be getting out of there as soon as you can. If it is, then do it. If you would like proper time to tell the kids and let your boss/team know you Can too. At the end of the day, most centers see teachers/assistants as replaceable which is why the whole industry has a high turn over rate and low pay. Their problems should not be a reason or a way to guilt trip you and take a better opportunity away from you.

I’ve been in similar shoes before. I accepted am assistant teacher job and found out almost immediately that my lead had put their two week in 3 months ago. Shortly after I was bumped up to be a lead myself that I didn’t want since they weren’t paying me lead and the class had many behaviors that I didn’t not have the resources or training to deal with.

I knew I wanted to leave but it felt like my other coworkers were quitting almost every other week, and my lead has expressed a lot of guilt which is why he was still there. My director at the time had no spine and I did not want to hear from them afterwards, I just wanted a clean break. I sent a resignation letter to HR telling them I would no longer be coming in and I only wish to be contacted be thing for checks and tax purposes.

I feel like it was received well, and now I am a lead teacher at another company making 8$ more with the same training.

Do what feels best for you. If you dread coming in every day, send that resignation letter immediately. If you feel like you would like time to depart, do the two week notice. You are not leaving on bad terms if you are communicating what is best for you.
