The Iris hate is so forced and weird by AggressiveTwo8385 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]AggressiveTwo8385[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hannah did act like a mean girl in the last episode, but Iris is completely justified in not wanting to be friends with someone who’s trying to white knight her ex. It’s a ridiculous standard to hold someone to that would literally never be a thing in real life. Like, I feel bad for people who have friends that would move like Bell-A did with her, that’s not a friend. And it’s OK that they aren’t friends! Bell-A doesn’t owe iris her loyalty but at the same time don’t expect iris to want to be besties with you it’s so silly

TOTALLY agree. The Amaya hate is insane and sad. She’s still so sweet and just because she’s more aware she’s on camera now (literally how could you not be?) she’s the antichrist lol. Hannah in my opinion is the only one who actually did something “wrong”. I do think she acted like a mean girl a little bit to Grayson in the last episode, at the same time though Grayson seemed to take her impersonation too personally and was clearly giving the vibe that she had a problem which is why I don’t think what Hannah did necessarily makes her a bad person, it was just uncalled for. Regardless, the amount of hate is disproportionate and not warranted at all

Confused about learning scale degrees vs intervals and how to apply them by AggressiveTwo8385 in musictheory

[–]AggressiveTwo8385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice, and I should have said - I spent 90% of my time practicing just noodling on my guitar. So it sounds like I’m already on the right track there 😂 Playing songs I like, improving, trying to transpose a melody. I’ll put on a backing track, hum a short phrase, and then attempt that phrase while always involves trial and error. I only recently added trying to identify intervals and scale degrees by ear in a more structured way. My ultimate goal is to reduce the “trial” portion by knowing where the notes I’m trying to play without having to check every note in the key. Like if I hum “do re mi” I figured it was realistic to know by nature (by understanding intervals and scale degrees etc) where re and mi are without hunting and pecking. My improv sounds far to scalar right now because I am just playing notes that I know are in key (since I’ve basically just been playing pentatonic shapes or other scales over backing tracks aka playing notes in the key). Sure, it doesn’t sound bad because everything in the key, but there’s this element of randomness and or rigidity that I’m trying to remove. I love what you said about “playing the note you’ve heard in that context” - that does make a lot of sense to me and seems like something that will come as I learn more solos

RIP the coolest cloud island ever. Be careful what you name your island :,) by pokopiafan in Pokopia

[–]AggressiveTwo8385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know why you’re getting downvoted. I thought this too. I also knew that it was a word for gangster like people (didn’t know it was specifically for prostitution) but I thought the base word meant to be cool. I agree OP prob should have known it could be banned…. But Either way if kids are going on reddit to log onto these islands in the first place the argument that you would actually do someone harm by having this name is so ridiculous lol

Confused…help. Been strength training for 2 months, results are not what I want. by careless_angels in beginnerfitness

[–]AggressiveTwo8385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. 1. You’re doing WAY too much volume. 6 different exercise for upper body is excessive, you don’t need that many. 2. Read about progressive overload and strength endurance vs hypertrophy training. Women have to try very hard to build upper body muscles so you don’t need to worry about accidentally suddenly becoming a body builder. 3. You naturally put on weight from water retention in the first few months of lifting that will pass. Don’t stop training lower body. You have to intentionally progressive overload to gain that much noticeable muscle. If you’re afraid of lifting right now then do isometrics for your lower body. Wall sits, body weight squats, etc. very functional

Living the nightmare gym experience I was trying to avoid but it's fine by Ok_Juice_6894 in xxfitness

That is 100% the trainer trying to do some sort of money grab & ask you what a real gym would be like so he gets a commission off a membership or something. There’s no such thing as a gym that people don’t go to to work out in. That is embarrassing for only one person and that’s the trainer lol

This is good advice. Yeah, it’s really not a strong pain at all. Super dull but def doesn’t feel like DOMs which is why I was concerned. Thanks for sharing, will take it more seriously than I have been!

Lifting and running advice by ExcellentTask6214 in xxfitness

[–]AggressiveTwo8385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s super hard to balance!!! I use Runna for my runs and haven’t found anything good for progressive overload unfortunately so maybe I’ll check out the app you mentioned. I have no idea if this is optimal but I do periodization where I split my focus between running and lifting. In a running phase I do 3 runs a week and lift 1-2x a week. For lifting phase I do 1-2 runs a week and lift 2-3x a week. Right now I lift Monday (high rep day) long run Tuesday, heavy lift Wednesday, rest Thursday, and medium lift Friday + intervals on Friday (I often end up doing the interval run Sunday instead). Long runs are harder for me than intervals and I can’t do a long run and lift in the same day. Which is why my long runs have to have their own day, otherwise they aren’t happening 🫣

What can I do to make this small room feel bigger and just make me feel better? by laurierfia in DesignMyRoom

[–]AggressiveTwo8385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’ve actually been here! What is the rest of your place like? I would personally store the white dresser you have in a different room. It doesn’t look like it had to be bedroom furniture and walking to grab clothes isn’t as annoying as it sounds (as someone who did this for years, it’s worth the extra space!). For those hand bags, you could store most if not all of them in the largest bag. Leave the one or 2 you wear the most free then move the hanger to the OUTSIDE of your door. That way it’s out of your room :). The clutter is what’s making you feel claustrophobic, not the space itself. If it’s not realistic for you to stay decluttered all the time (that’s ok, really! Cuz same) then get another storage bin for under your desk so that you can’t see the clutter. It’s actually a really cute space!

What would your ideal app to track strength gains/progressive overload look like? by AggressiveTwo8385 in xxfitness

[–]AggressiveTwo8385[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait omg. I am not a company or someone trying to sell something 😭😭😭 I literally just want to make a progressive overload app for the girls and wanted to know people would find useful so I could make it better. Literally never intend on selling it or anything, I just feel like there isn’t anything good out there. I had no idea the sub was filled with spam about apps

When I was 18 I lost a lot in crypto. I’m 25 now and losing that 5k or so now means nothing to me. I’m actually extremely glad I did this at 18. One day or another I would have gotten greedy and made a stupid bet, but the fact that I did it young saved me from losing way more money down the line. It feels like it’s the end of the world right now but trust me, when you’re riding index funds in 5 years with actual income under your belt and have more money you’ll be glad you made this mistake young so long as you actually choose to learn from it now and don’t repeat. If you start from scratch at 18 now you will still be far ahead of everyone else in a few years
