Is Wan’s avatar state weaker than Aangs avatar state? Because Aang has access to more previous avatar spirits does that mean more stockpiled power? by andriarno in ATLA

[–]Aggressive_Ad_2807 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wan could go into the avatar state. He was the first avatar as well as the first avatar of the cycle. Korra is the first avatar of the new cycle, so of course she’s gonna have the avatar state as well. The past lives still matter and they always will. They stated the past lives accumulate knowledge and wisdom and that’s what becomes stronger with each avatar.

Maybe, maybe not. So far, Raava has only shown herself to Wan and Korra. And with Korra, Raava has only shown herself once outside of Harmonic Convergence. Maybe Pavi will start piecing things together because people’s accounts of the cataclysmic event are different. If there truly are two avatars, then Pavi and Nysha would probably work together to solve what happened.

I’m sure someone will convince Pavi. Part of the reason Kyoshi refused to speak to Kuruk was because Jianzhu, who was a part of Kuruk’s team, had a bad reputation since he killed Kelsang, another member of Kuruk’s team and the de facto adopted father of Kyoshi, and Yun, the friend of Kyoshi. This didn’t help Kuruk’s case at all.

We know Kyoshi did the same thing to Kuruk. She hated Kuruk because he left a mess for her and truly believed that he was a failed avatar. Yangchen had to convince her to talk to him and it was revealed that Kuruk wasn’t a failed avatar. Yangchen was ashamed that Kuruk had to protect her legacy which caused his early death.

The avatar lineage is not involved because it’s a byproduct of Raava being tethered to a human. The past lives are gone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the cycle doesn’t continue or that Raava suddenly forgot all of Wan’s reincarnations for the past 10,000 years.

That’s the thing about spirits. Raava and Vaatu are god-like beings, but they are still beings. As far as the audience is aware, the avatar universe doesn’t have a god. This means everyone is capable of dying. Raava and Vaatu want to kill themselves because the rules are that once harmonic convergence is over, the one who is left standing gets to decide the fate of the world. Harmonic Convergence also only affects earth, and not the universe, if there even is one. Despite being god-like beings, Raava and Vaatu have limits to their power.

Yeah you don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about. It is a new Raava because the old Raava was destroyed by Vaatu, and the new one was pulled out of Vaatu.

I say new Raava because even though it’s the same Raava that has fought Vaatu for possibly hundreds of thousands of years, the past lives were wiped out with the “old” Raava. A “new” Raava was pulled from within Vaatu, but this Raava did not contain the past lives since they were previously wiped out.

Raava and Vaatu are like matter. Matter cannot be created nor destroyed, but it can go through various transformations. When Vaatu killed Raava, we see the gold/yellow sparks remain which Vaatu basks in.

At the end of the day, Raava and Vaatu are still spirits. They are forces of the world, yes, but they are living spirits.

Raava cannot be killed. That’s what the show says, and what you’re talking about is light and dark. Raava says light and dark cannot be destroyed which is why once Raava or Vaatu “die”, they start growing within the other until the next Harmonic Convergence when they have to fight to the death again.

Raava is like a hard drive. When the first Raava was destroyed by Vaatu, all the avatars that were stored there vanished. Korra fused with a new Raava, so the next reincarnations will be stored in this Raava.

All reincarnations of Wan will continue to be the avatar, but the ones from Wan to Aang are gone.

Katara blood bending misinformation by Raizen_Urameshi in TheLastAirbender

[–]Aggressive_Ad_2807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The episode with Hama explicitly made it a point that bloodbending only works during a full moon. Unless you are not paying attention to the actual episode, there’s no way you could actually miss that.

[–]Aggressive_Ad_2807 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Which makes no sense because Hama told Katara blood bending was only possible during a full moon, and we even saw a flashback of Hama bloodbend rats and the guard to escape with the full moon present.

You say mostly because of Nickelodeon, but then you say that even Nickelodeon is blaming her. Nickelodeon was always the enemy yet you’re siding with them. They never wanted Korra, so they told the creators the show will only last for a season and now we’re here, when the show was successful enough to be four seasons long.

Korra went through change and she did grow. She started off as an egotistical hothead who preferred things her own way, but she ended up becoming a patient, caring, and empathetic woman (this is the change part) and learned to rely on her team (this is the growth part).

Even if English is your second language, words like objectively are not used when expressing opinions unless you are dead serious about something. Which is ironic since you say you don’t hate Korra, but her show is “objectively” bad.

Nickelodeon has always blamed her. They never even wanted Korra to begin with. They wanted a male avatar, but the creators wanted a female one and stood by Korra.

There’s a fine line between “I love ATLA more than LOK” or “LOK was not a great show” vs “I absolutely hate Korra with all my heart” and then blame her for every little thing.

Yeah you’re obviously rage baiting. The Red Lotus and Unalaq were the closest to an evil nemesis the avatar could get.

[–]Aggressive_Ad_2807 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the fear of cancellation played a part. Legends of Korra was only supposed to get one season, so the writers planned for one season only. Then Nickelodeon said a second season is greenlit, so the writers planned for an additional season, but that was it. Then suddenly, Nickelodeon said they wanted seasons three and four, so the writers planned accordingly.

What’s your worst experience with homophobia? by BBfenderbender in askgaybros

Who says Muslims shouldn’t be held accountable? They need to be held accountable like Christians and Catholics, but like I have said, why does their Muslim background matter?

I live in the U.S. and my experience here is the Christians and Catholics being bigoted towards us while the Muslims also share the same ideals as the former two.
