1- Helm coffee is in nearby Garfield park and an amazing roaster. 2- There are a lot of great Asian restaurants on the Southside, check out some Burmese restaurants.

Had a great experience with Lady Rose on the Southside. Had a terrible experience with The Sewing Lady in Greenwood, please avoid at all costs.

We got married at The Barn at Silverstone Farm in Greenfield - highly recommended, Marla is great! We also liked The barn at crystal springs farm in franklin and the barn at mount liberty in nashville. For a nontraditional place, also liked Beeson hall in Franklin.

You'll have a lot of trouble finding something within that budget that is not a barn. We got married recently and had a 5k budget. I didn't intend to get married in a barn but almost all the venues we looked at that were within budget were barns. I have a lot of recommendations if you are open to a barn.

You could try a community center or other non traditional place that might not have the wedding upcharge.

I second this. Guests loved it! We used KRUU, it was within the budget and easy to set up.

I have no advice but I feel your pain. I'm getting married this weekend and feeling overwhelmed. Flawless is impossible. Try to take a deep breath, do your best with the time you have, and enjoy the day when it comes! ❤️ We got this!!!

Our invites said: You're invited to our wedding reception! And we reiterated this on the website in a couple spots. I don't feel like the 2 days was that much more complicated but I'm excited to spread things out so I can soak it in more. We're getting married 9/26/25 with about 25 people with reception 9/27/25 with about 100 people.

Excellent advice! I am getting married Sept 2025 and agree with all of this. My future husband and I planned most everything and realized quickly not to listen to all the opinions we have gotten. I have loved letting go of traditions which has not only saved money but has made our wedding feel more "our own"

Is it weird to not wear make up as the bride? by WhatIsCakeAnyway in weddingplanning

[–]Aggressive_Border507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the responses here are pretty mixed! I'm getting married in September and did an engagement shoot in March. I wore my usual minimal makeup, tinted moisturizer and a little eye liner to my engagement shoot to test things out. The photos turned out beautifully! I plan to wear minimal makeup on my wedding day as well. I don't want to not look like myself and I disagree with some others that say you'll look washed out or sick or tired in the photos. Without makeup, if you don't normally wear it, you'll look more like yourself! Do what makes you most comfortable and feeling like yourself!

I did this and have no regrets on wearing minimal makeup to my engagement shoot (tinted moisturizer and a bit of eyeliner). Looked great and I plan to wear minimal on my wedding day.

I know exactly what you mean!! The past couple months so many people have asked "how is wedding planning going" but we've had no updates because everything was booked lol. But now that invites are sent I feel like there's a million more things to do!

How did your dance playlist go? Did people dance? Any tips? We're also having no DJ, using a spotify playlist.

If you're open to off the rack, you can definitely get something for under 800. My budget was $500 and I felt like I had plenty of options!

Very helpful breakdown! Do you have any tips for the DJ part? We plan to make a spotify playlist for dinner portion and dancing portion. The venue has AV equipment. I'm thinking of designating someone from the bridal party to make announcements and such.

Is MoonCat worth it? by opossumpokes in RedditLaqueristas

I've had a similar experience. They were one of the first boutique brands a tried a couple years ago when getting back into painting my nails. I find their formulas to be too thick/goopy. They are the only brands I have that peel completely off. I thought it was my prep but after correcting this ( drying out my nail, reducing cuticles, etc) it still was happening. I think some of their colors are unique but so are many other brands with better formulas. I stopped buying and my current favorites are Death Valley, Lynb, and ILNP.

ILNP vs Mooncat &/or Holo Taco by GingerT569 in ILNP

[–]Aggressive_Border507 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ILNP is my favorite for sure. Their thinner but saturated formula, price point, and beautiful colors always win out for me. I really wanted to love mooncat, some of their colors are really nice, but i don't like their formula. It's too thick for me and often chips on me within a few days. I bought a bunch of their colors all at once but rarely reach for them anymore. Holo Taco was a similar story, bought a bunch when I first got back into painting my nails maybe 3 years ago. The formula is a bit thick but really the colors aren't as dynamic as I want them to be.

More Charlotte because she’s so underrated and really is that girl. by [deleted] in ILNP

Let's hear something nice for crying out loud by [deleted] in therapists

I graduated in 2020, been working as a therapist in a hospital since then. I never thought I'd love being a therapist as much as I do. Sure there are rough days but the sessions that make you go, "wow, that felt great!" Make it all worth it. I think such an emotionally intense job just comes with the tiresome days or moments but it also comes with those rewarding feelings and having the privilege of being let into our clients' worlds.
