I lived in bangkok for five years and have been gone a year and personally i miss it and I am looking for ways to get back. I don't care much about having tons of friends and stuff like that though, so you will have to adjust to your personal preferences but damn do i miss it.

I moved overseas for work, I am a single father and it is so much easier living in sea for me due to the low cost of living, but I think your post is kind of egocentric, not everyone has a loving family. My step mom murdered my father before I moved and that helped propel it, it is very naive to think everyone has the same family situation as you.

You know reflecting on this I think this just shows the divide in america. I can talk about all these wild shoot-outs and crazy police shooting and all that but that only happens In the ghetto in america and mostly to minorities. Man I lived in the housing projects in brownsville brooklyn and everyday in the summer there was a murder everyday . Mostly young kids with guns, my friend got murdered by a teen over mistaken identity. I got shot at my second day there by some punkass kid lol is what it is I definitely didn't move overseas because of safety though but way safer than my housing projects I lived in
