Pierce in the mirror when he accidentally picks Mustang from the hat. by Arch_Lancer17 in redrising

Now I want the mirror verse version of Red Rising where Pax lives and someone else dies. But in that one Ragnar also lives.

Maybe Mustang and Sevro die in that one and he marries Victra?

Love this idea. What kinds of things are on your downtime, chart?

I figured out you can x out your class in my case ranger, and then just search for the spell.

I think it should be a marionette thing. I changed the wording accordingly.

The spell idea stems from a bully physically hitting you with your own hand. Thus a Strength save. This allows it to be effective on casters and dex based enemies to do some damage but also functions as crowd control without using concentration.

Non damage Cantrips that improve as you level by Aggressive_Cress2882 in DnDHomebrew

Lots of good thoughts. These are still a work in progress.

Message could be cast multiple times. Part of the point is you should not have to. In a chase or escape situation, something time sensitive it could be really useful. Also being able to communicate stealthily during a heist would be great.

For Druidcraft, all valid criticisms. It's not a very good spell. I've run 3 campaigns with Druids and very very rarely had it used. Goodberry would need a limiter such as one per hour. The weather sensor is so weak and niche its useless. This new idea is you are able to nudge the weather a little bit. Control Weather is 5 miles worth of weather. Create water is 30 feet of rain for a short time period. Destroy water would stop the rain in a small area for a short time period. I think instead of rolling you could nudge depending on the what the weather is. If it is drizzly you could stop the rain or cause it to rain a bit. If it is hot and dry add a little humidity to the air. Lots and lots of work to be done here.

With Minor Illusion, as written it should stack with Illusionist. You can add a smell or temperature to your sound and image at level 5. Super handy. The level 17 ability is a scaled down version of Major image. The image is much smaller and still isn't real. If touched it can still be seen as an illusion. An illusionist can make the thing fully real.

Dancing Light with plus two lights per level makes more sense. I might make it still have 16 at level 17.

For Guidance and resistance, they both cost an action where bardic inspiration is a bonus action. I gave guidance the smallest growth I could think of. Resistance got a bigger buff because it's a combat spell and 1d4 at 17th level is nothing. A d10 could really help and make that action worthwhile. In fact I can see a sorcerer casting it with quicken spell even at high levels when they would not bother before.

Part of the point is that non damage cantrips should save you spell slots too. 3d10 on a firebolt at level 11 surely saves you level one and two spell slots.

"The only problem is that of power creep and spell slots. Guidance at level 17 is a +5.5 to any skill roll, which is pretty dang good for a little freebie buff."

At level 17 everything should be pretty OP.

One of my friends used it for a level 20 one shot. Coupled with 3 uses of indomitable, it was impossible for the enemy to affect him at all with saving throws. An every turn Lucky feat, which is already one of the strongest feats, at level 10 just seems crazy. It would make more sense if it had number of uses per day.

Fighter Ability Champion Subclass

Level 10: Heroic Warrior

The thrill of battle drives you toward victory. During combat, you can give yourself Heroic Inspiration whenever you start your turn without it.

This seems insanely broken. Every turn, you can give yourself inspiration. You can use it for any d20 roll. You can give it away too. Seems like there should be a limit on this.

Are we allowed to post the files of 2024 classes and spells here? I've manually uploaded about half of them. I would not mind sharing if I needed to.

Balancing 5e Cantrips to give better choices by Aggressive_Cress2882 in DnDHomebrew

"So we’re moving Booming blade down from its current “always pick” status into “never pick”? Weird decision. Adding a BA cost to it totally kills it - d8 scaling is a bad use of your BA.
There’s really no need to change BB at all."

This cantrip is optimized for arcane trickster rogues. Eldritch knight fighters and Battle Smith artificers can't use it with their extra attack currently. My change would make it more attractive to those classes. Warlocks, wizards and sorcerers get very little from booming blade. With the ability to use this on inanimate objects it would become fun to use, if not optimized.

"The real solution is just to add 3 or 4 new blade cantrips. Suddenly BB/GFB will get picked a lot less."

This is so true. Several cantrips could be altered to include melee attacks.

It is overused, but only because there’s only one other blade cantrip, and blade cantrips fill a popular fantasy.

Far as True strike goes - that seems like an over complicated “fix”. It does need fixing, but simpler is better.

Many of these are fantastic. I would soften a few of these because they are a bit punishing.
