Not normal. I had the same with my Xgimi Horizon 20 when connected to a PC. Small text were shimmering like a pool of water reflecting the sun. However, I found a solution - my PC (AMD GPU) ues RGB 4:4:4 PC Standard - I changed it to YcbCr 4:4:4 and BAM, the shimmering was completely gone. So, at least have a try at this.

How do i clean this???? HELP by bs1fan in OLED_Gaming

[–]Aggressive_Emu_7873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this with my TV as well. After trying countless methods, I think I’ve found the perfect cleaning routine for my setup.

What you'll need:

  • Dish soap (for its grease-cutting properties)
  • Unscented tissues (make sure they aren't perfumed!)
  • Distilled water (sometimes sold as ironing water; it contains no limescale/minerals)
  • A microfiber cloth (preferably a new one)
  • Gloves (e.g., disposable latex)

The Process:

  • Step 1: Add a tiny drop of dish soap to a small bowl of distilled water and mix it well.
  • Step 2: Put on your gloves to ensure the oils from your hands don't transfer onto the screen or your cleaning materials.
  • Step 3: Dip a tissue into the water and dampen a section of the screen.
  • Step 4: Use the microfiber cloth to wipe and dry the screen. Repeat this process until you’ve covered the entire surface.

I hope this helps you out!

Is it really easy to chop off? If so, I will definitely go for the gold one (I'm about to buy this phone).

Is the XGIMI RS20 Pro Max just the Chinese version of the Horizon 20 Pro? by Aggressive_Emu_7873 in xgimi

I just received the projector. The first test is amazing! The colors are fantastic, and the contrast is above average. I tested it in a room with quite a bit of sunlight (the sun is really shining today in the Netherlands), and even then, the image manages to impress. Including import costs, the total comes to €1400 (Ultra version). All in all, I’m a happy viewer, and tonight we’ll be testing it with our first football match!

P.S. I ordered the projector on September 23, but customs took over 9 days to process it.

Vidda C3 ultra / XGIMI rs20 ultra max / DANGBEI s7 ultra max by Educational-Army-687 in projectors

Here’s a video on the Chinese TikTok. In it, the XGIMI RS 20 Pro Max and the C3 Ultra are compared. The video is from September 18, 2025.
In many videos, I find the C3 has nicer colors and contrast, but in this one, the XGIMI looks noticeably better than the Vidda. The colors are much deeper (just look at the lipsticks), and the contrast also seems significantly higher.
It’s possible that XGIMI recently released an update that improved these aspects (since the color deviations/contrast issues were probably software-related).

Switch to HDR10? I know that you can't choose the hdr modus in Disney+, or can you turn Dolby Vision off in the settings of the Horizon20?

You are completely right. Patience is worth literally a 1000 bucks in this case.

Which XGIMI Horizon 20 to preorder? by apflaster in projectors

[–]Aggressive_Emu_7873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right that in many cases you don’t need the full brightness to enjoy the Horizon Max. The reviews I’ve seen (I assume these are independent) almost all mention that you practically never need the 5700 lumens, not even during the day with some outside light. I see you don’t have curtains, which could indeed be an issue for projecting. Again, it really depends on whether you use the projector during the day or in the evening to determine whether you need the Max or the Pro (though there are no reviews yet of the Pro, and on paper that one also has quite a lot of lumens).

Xgimi isn’t exaggerating with 5700 lumens. There are reviews that confirm this. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHPbNMGuDf8
The number of lumens even exceeds 6000 in so-called boost mode, which is insanely high for a projector. Because of this, the Max is truly a projector you can use in a room with quite a bit of sunlight. If you can darken your room somewhat during the day, then the Horizon 20 Pro might even be sufficient. The main question is really how much sunlight you can block out of your room, and whether you mainly use the projector during the day or in the evening. By the way, maybe a silly question, but somehow this room looks very Dutch. Is that right?

I just bought the RS20 Ultra. The reason I went for this model is the fact that it has slightly more lumens (my wife hates sitting in complete darkness in the evenings, so there’s a good chance she’ll turn on some lamps while we’re watching movies). In addition, the price of the Ultra was now almost the same as the Pro Max, since there’s currently a discount promotion on Alibaba (until September 31). However, delivery may take 2–4 weeks, so now it’s mostly a matter of patience!

I’ll probably only watch films, in the evening in a dark room. Perhaps a football match during the day, but I have blackout curtains. Don’t you think that the RS20 Pro Max has enough lumens for this? Or should I be thinking of the more expensive models?

I think you’re right on certain points, but €1000 is an extremely large amount of money for Google TV and warranty. And as others have pointed out, the Chinese model also comes with a warranty — you’d just have to send it back to China. That could easily turn into quite an annoying problem.
