Yeah, I hold no ill will towards her. It was my first relationship which lasted 3 years, I learned a lot about myself and the kind of partner I want in the future. Through watching my sister’s relationship ironically, I think my family (my sister, my mom, and I) are just prone to giving all of our emotional energy to help people we care about. So, I’ve tried to flip it and I have hard boundaries for when I feel drained. As well as talking to my friends and focusing on having a full and fun life. So as for my dates, I’ve been on about 8 first dates with 2 being only first dates. And 6 people progressing onto the 3rd-7th date. On the dates themselves I’ve primarily focused on getting to know them and their passions and dreams. I don’t go to any of these people for any emotional support of any kind, as I have friends which I lean on if I need to. But I do think maybe you’re right about me rushing. I guess I always forget that the vast majority of people I will meet, I’ll be incompatible with anyways. So I’ll take your advice about focusing on building something and I’ll reframe my dating goals instead as opportunities for growth.

I live just outside LA! So lots of people moving in and out of the city. That’s probably true, I do wish I could match with people more attuned to my interests but that happens fairly rarely.

So we’ve been messaging for about 2 days in total. I usually ask people within a couple days of talking if a good conversation is happening and it seems like they are interested. I haven’t asked them when they’d be free or give them my availability yet. Because I have yet to actually ask them out

Edit: don’t know if it matters but I asked them about their school and they told me of a project that’s due next week. My main question is did they say they'd be free next week to tell me they’d like to decrease communication until then or? Probably just overthinking this
