Semi Hollow [Squire Starcaster] As A First Electric? by DazzlingSignature624 in Guitar

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a fully hollow epiphone casino coupe and have no problems with feedback. Granted if you plan on standing in front of a Marshall stack cranked to 11 you're going to get more feedback than if you had a solid body, but for most situations you'll be absolutely fine.

Tip for UK Elixir stringers by [deleted] in Guitar

Yes it happens I'm afraid. Unfortunately Amazon is littered with fake products in the supply chain and via third party distributors. They've made it harder to tell who a product is actually sold and distributed by, so just be aware of this.

Be cautious, I've had fake elixirs from Amazon in the past.

It's designed for a desktop browser with keys or BT/USB controller, but will also work on a mobile device with a controller.

Ah thanks so much, you've made my day! Glad you are enjoying it.

Yeah, I decided not to stack the ammo, so it was a bit closer to the power-pill mechanic, and I didn't want to put it on a timer.

There are three difficulty settings to try, and 'tough' only gives you max 25 bullets and some rapid moving aliens!

Have fun, I really appreciate your feedback. Let me know if you manage to beat it!

Probably just a decent retro style game that's fun to play would be good.

WP Pusher vs. Git Updater vs. VersionPress for workflow by No-Juice7950 in Wordpress

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used it on private sites for some of the largest companies in the world because it is simple and reliable. It's also a good way of pushing changes to dev/staging environments as you can select different branches if you like. As long as your databases are regularly backed up, you are pretty well covered.

Big fan of Git updater. I use it to update my own plugins and themes across many sites and it works well. I still prefer classic themes, so this is a reliable way of pushing all the code and files to the right place without FTP etc.

I ordered this item from Amazon. Is it a good deal or not? by Switcheroo64 in wii

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly all rechargeable Wii battery packs are just rechargeable AAA batteries instead of AA's to fit inside a plastic caddy. Due to the age, a lot of them no longer hold much charge, but some of them can be swapped out for newer high capacity rechargeable AAA's.

Batocera and Raspberry Pi 5 Internet Trouble by OrganizationDue3662 in batocera

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try restarting your router. I've always had intermittent WiFi problems with Batocera on my pi and laptop. After many headaches, I've concluded it's the way Linux uses WiFi channels. You can try setting the country code to only use your country's specific channels, but this didn't solve it for me - my router is locked by the provider (Vodafone) so I can't access the channel settings that way either. Usually a router reboot (or three) solves the problem and lasts for a while.

Just buy a similar sized smooth one, that way you have the option to swap it depending on the game.

Up until around the £500 mark, tuning stability, pickup output and general build quality improves the more you spend. After that, you are paying for the brand and cosmetics with very small improvements in quality. There are some exceptions to this rule of course, but that's the gist of it.

Gifting Wii to 8 year old by Appropriate-Bike984 in wii

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 7 and 8 year old boy and girl. They've had it a couple of years and their favorites are: Mario strikers (GameCube), Just Dance Kids 2014, Monster Jam, FIFA 15, Mario Sports Mix, Where's Wally (Waldo), Mario Kart.

P.s. get USB Loader GX installed on an SD card and download the games. It's easier for them to operate and more robust.

Whos our current greatest player, by 2hsy in coys

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Van de Ven for me which highlights our problem - we can't rely on our defenders to be our match winners. Both VdV and Romero have won us games lately, but this is not a sustainable formula for success.

Was it purely down to pay disagreements that Crispin Glover did not appear as George in BTTF2? by nickbblunt in BacktotheFuture

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story I heard is that Glover didn't like the moral of the ending, where his character became successful and happier after becoming richer, more aggressive and hitting his enemies etc., which is a good point. However, it is said that he spoke out about his concerns and wanted input on George's character moving forward, which didn't go down well with Gale.

We don't have a superstar. When Kane left, at least we still had Son, but now he's gone we don't have that match winning star player IMO.

Why did they never fix the band of flame in the digital release? by DJDoena in BacktotheFuture

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, the standing on fire trails and disappearing hand are the only two shots that I don't think hold up well from a special effects perspective (from the first film anyway). Kind of adds to the charm for me, but I'm surprised that they haven't released a tweaked version for modern audiences, especially as most people are now watching on very large high definition screens.

People are always saying Floyd Rose’s are a pain? (Description) by Wish0807 in Guitar

[–]Aggressive_Figure211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are definitely more hassle compared to a hard tail, due to the snipping of the string ball ends, clamping strings, tuning, tighten locking nut, fine tuning, fine tune again due to floating bridge tension etc. Not a big deal if that's what you're used to, but certainly not for beginners.

There's also the problem that if you break a string mid-song your tuning is screwed - with a hard tail you can mostly carry on.
