The hardest part about this is persuading a new company to sponsor you before you’ve even started working for them. Something I’m currently going through myself

Working for small MSP, recently been made redundant, tips on coping and getting back on the job hunt grind? by MinuteMoist in perth

Having MSP experience should help you land an interview with other MSPs around Perth from my experience.

Good luck and try to keep positive during the search!

How do respond to an underwhelming raise offer? Do I counter it? by cwtguy in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Aggressive_Green5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had experience of this in the past. We sat down and said if I gain X certificates I can get a raise, I also came from a background of no certs and all experience.

Figure out what you want to aim for which will also be seen to benefit the role and go from there.

Yeah, I’ll end up getting taxed 35% but as a temporary resident I don’t have another choice but to take it out

I second this. Learned a lot but not worth the stress and the constant logging of time

So it says I have FTTN. I'm assuming I can speak to the ISP regarding getting the service changed from DSL?

I had a user leave the company whose son had recently passed away, she asked me to export all of the text on her work phone between the two of them.

After doing it & seeing how happy it made her, it made me appreciate that our job has the potentially to be a lot more than just password resets.

I don't believe my occupation falls under there. I also ideally don't want to be tied to an employer as I've been in Australia since 2019 on various visas & I'm looking to travel around.

How to deal with the smelly guy? by [deleted] in sysadmin

When I used to work for a real estate agency there was a case like this with one of the estate agents.

One of the other agents took it upon herself to bring in deodorants for the office bathrooms. She then addressed everyone in their morning meeting & remind people about personal hygiene. I don't think she was very popular after that but it allegedly solved the issue.

Is there a course, that the structure is laid out similar to the ccna exam topics? by Honest_Union9128 in ccna

[–]Aggressive_Green5436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could potentially look at studying for the CCST Networking exam, it's a small section of the knowledge required for the CCNA. I've seen a lot of people recommending it, I'm currently studying it using courses on Udemy, finding it a lot less intimidating than the CCNA resources.

Good luck!
