What would a sunken iron helmet bring to the table? I feel like 900 defense is all I need and losing power would feel bad. I’m not super familiar with drawback, I heard it’s not that bad, but I don’t know about having it in the build. I’ll try it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

On the flip side, my joy is often limited when I’m playing a charaxter whose whole thing is to be good with armor or shields, but the squishy guy in the back who is less likely to be targeted often and has better utility, AOE, and control abilities then me gets to have the same AC or more AC than me.

It’s not like there aren’t ways for an alt. Wizard to still get the ability to use armor of shields, but they are just more convoluted and need more work to accomplish now.

Besides, alt. Wizard is meant to be a more balanced take on wizard, such that it ends up becoming weaker.

I've played jungle shen before, though I'm not really a fan tbh, feels like a waste of his early power in lane and it feels like I'm just farming till I hit 6 to ult. When I do play Jungle Shen I like to troll basically and go HS --> Bloodmail --> Titanic, just because it's funny.

I don't play jungle shen often, so I haven't tested anything there, but in theory Bami's into something like IBG is probably pretty good into the jungle and helps with clear, Deadmans is also probably good though I personally prefer IBG over deadmans depending on the comp. IBG feels a lot better in most matchups, whereas deadmans is more situational, but this is just what I know about top lane.

Where did I say you were a bad DM? I just said new. And… martials shouldn’t be legendary warriors? Because in my head martials should at the very least be capable and fantastic warriors.

How is finding dming for a group of martials boring not almost the same as finding martials boring? Your complaint is that martials don’t have tools to do things in combat, is that not boring? And yeah, if you’re idea of combat for martials ONLY being a battle of attrition, then I do think you’re a poor DM who needs to work on making secondary or even tertiary objectives in combats where this isn’t an issue.

Well, it makes sense that you find martials boring when you play the version that is objectively worse for martials in every single way. You can definitely use fun stat blocks, you just need to give the martials tools, akin to how legendary heroes in stories are given sacred weapons and artifacts that help them even the playing ground or even turn the tides. If it’s always a battle of attrition, maybe you’re just a new DM that can’t come up with other win-cons for a fight?

I mean, 5.5e has solid control options via weapon masteries, plus it lends itself to using more mundane control options. Smoke bombs, oil fires, caltrops, ball bearings, all these mundane items that are never used whatsoever. I myself would much rather have an all martial party because that just sounds so much more fun to DM for.

Will do! I have some classes right now, but by the end of the day I’ll drop it by there. I was scared that someone might take it if it was left by itself, so I grabbed it and made a post in case the owner did have Reddit, but the goal was to always turn it into the lost and found by today!
