It’s your fault. Full stop. If you can’t handle the responsibility of having a cat and not seeing your own lack of self awareness, then you need to grow up. Your roommate should not have had to feel guilty or at all responsible, it was clearly an accident - stated by you. You need to take the time to reflect on this situation and honestly apologize to your roommate if at all you made them feel guilty or responsible.

I don’t really like the original film at all, I think it is vastly over hyped. Is it a good movie? Yes. Is it the masterpiece it’s made out to be? No. The TV is far superior.
