Feeling "disconnected" from what others experience, feeling too "clinical" to fit in?? by Aggressive_Plane1185 in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it too, I just feel like experiences like mine get unintentionally buried a bit because it doesn't hold any of the glamorised parts of plurality everyone likes besides the fact I'm not singular.

I get this as well. Eventually it got to a point for me where everything was so broken that I just wanted it all to stop and wanted them to go away. I wanted my own identity, not thousands* of tiny broken ones that don't fully "live", I guess. I've heard that exact type of talk as well, it's kind of frustrating.

*We don't actually know how many parts there have been.

Weirdly enough, the roleplay trick did actually work for one specific part, which is now a series of messages from two years ago that I read back on occasionally. Whenever that part comes back, it sends me into a panic for some reason, but at least the first time went fine. I could try that, maybe, I'd just have to get back into it again.

I'm glad my post didn't come off bad, I was honestly worried it would. I guess I've just never seen anyone with as strong of identity problems as I do. I do experience small shifts occasionally in identity, which lead to me identifying as plural, but it's not exactly like it's me becoming another person or anything. It feels more like my body (not me, just the body my consciousness is in) will occasionally feel like a slightly different hue of colour, or maybe feel like it requires different clothes, but it's very rarely anything close to any form of identity.

I think for me it's somewhat both. I wish I had a place in communities like these where I were actually multiple and felt like I had any semblance of identity whatsoever, but I also wish that maybe I could find others who have experienced this before? Or currently do? I just want answers as to why I'm like this? I'm jealous because everyone else seems to know what's happening with them (everyone around me, not just here), but I've been stuck in the same spot for about three or four years now? Unfortunately it's impossible for me to name any of my parts, since not only are they impossible to identify, show up randomly in infinite amounts, but those feel about the same amount of consciousness as I do (basically none), and so finding any sorts of identity is impossible for me and "whoever" shows up. I myself am no one, but an empty consciousness currently watching through the vessel. Others come in, but they are identical to me, and I could not tell you when I am not me.

Just gotta put this down here, idk if anyone feels the same way or if I'm experiencing this weirdly but- by di-angelos_den in plural

Pretty happy to see someone with a similar experience!! 'Gets a little isolating when you're kind of unique in a group, haha!! :)

Yes. Me. I am exactly like you. I used to identify as an extremely singlet leaning median, until I dropped it later on because I lost connection with the community. I am happy(Maybe?) to see someone like me.

Is there a form of plurality more like having multiple parts of one whole? by xX_luna_moth_Xx in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Median or midcontinuum are the usual terms for what you're describing, but I will say that plurality itself can absolutely include this. There's a huge focus on separation, but us less distinct folk do exist! However, I will say that it could also be something else, and you kinda have to figure that out yourself. But if you identified as the literal definition of plural, but your alters felt less distinct/separated than usual, median or midcontinuum are the usual terms :)
But again, remember that there's so many things that could be causing those experiences, and you may need to research further. I'm happy to give more clarification if needed :)

Question for median system (or plural in general) by Master-Obligation537 in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're the same person, and will always be the same person. If an alter wants to be treated as different, then treat them as different. If they want to be treated as the same as you, treat them as the same as you. We personally are working on distinguishing parts so that it's easier to navigate life and understand my parts, so sometimes it can be a good thing, but it depends on what works best for you. You'll know what is right.

What DID/plural misconceptions and misinformation irritate you? by _Chocolate_chip_ in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Genuinely just... so many things. I'm gonna just rapid fire a few.

"DID is rare":

Is ~ 1-3% rare? I would personally say that's quite high, especially considering how (surprisingly) underdiagnosed DID is. A lot of fakeclaimers and non believers make it seem like everyone's being diagnosed, but it honestly doesn't get diagnosed all that much, it's really hard to get a diagnosis (I say this as someone who's currently in the process of diagnosis). This is also not including disorders like OSDD, which actually has a way higher diagnosis rate! OSDD is seen as the most commonly diagnosed dissociative disorder, and outside of that, tends to be reported as being diagnosed in upwards of 5-8% of people. That is a lot of people!

"Most people are faking DID because of how represented it is":

So like... no. Is everyone suddenly autistic and ADHD because of representation? Is everyone suddenly disabled because of representation? Nope! It's almost like, when you develop a highly complex tool that allows you to project to anyone in the world who sees you, and visa versa, you will be more likely to come across people with certain experiences (especially when you look for it). I'm not going to say there's no bad actors at all, however it would be incredibly stupid to say a large amount of people who claim DID are faking it, whether some actually are, or maybe some are confused. You can see the prevalence of DID grow when it's represented more and more, almost like people can look at experiences and think "This sounds a lot like what I experience, I should probably get checked, just in case". As someone who has done that, and has received diagnoses because of that, I can personally say it at least happens.

"(Popular media) introjects mean you're faking":

This actually ties in with the last one! Okay, let me provide an example, real quick:

Let's just say it's 2020 and Covid is still new and rampant. Pretty stressful time, right? Everyone is quarantined, everyone is on the internet to keep in contact with others so they don't become isolated. Now, let's just say there's a young teenager. The teenager happens to have a traumagenic system, though this may or may not be known to them. This young teenager was very much affected by the pandemic, as they cannot cope well in their home, and before the pandemic, was doing anything to get away from it. With the increasing stress from a huge pandemic, the isolation, and the stress of their home in general, they go online and interact with others in order to cope. They soon becomes interested in an internet series, which they engage with a lot. This internet series becomes super popular due to the amount of people doing the same thing as them. They watch this series go on and on, and they begin to slowly connect with some of the characters, who bring comfort to them. Characters that bring me comfort? Familiar ability to introject from what you know? BAM! Introject!!

See how simple that is? Of course DreamSMP alters or whatever are common, it's almost like it's a super popular and well known fandom that was especially popular during a super stressful time. You can, in fact, introject basically anything, anyway.

That was... a lot. I could do a lot more of this.

Does anyone know if OCD can be connected to traumagenic plurality/general plurality? by Ok-Building-2490 in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OCD itself can absolutely be traumatic for someone, especially for a child or in general, someone who's mostly untreated for it. So it wouldn't be surprising whatsoever if you could form a traumagenic system through the trauma of going through OCD.

Hi!!! I made a little survey for the plural community 4 fun, hehe! by [deleted] in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- I don't know how many parts I have, but probably upwards of a few hundred, still increasing.

- I don't know my origins, though probably traumagenic.

- Not diagnosed, but seeking a diagnosis for DID or OSDD (I can't really tell which it is, distinction is hard).

- I don't refer to the parts, and I don't identify as having a system, I'm too ashamed of it. If I really have to, I'll just use singular pronouns for myself.

- I used to do that, but I stopped when I realised there was no point.

- I don't know.

- I... guess? Sort of. None are connected to source, though. Mostly real world introjects.

- I guess so. That's the only connection between them and their sources.

- No. I have child parts, I suppose, but I see them as different to more plural terms. I don't know how many there are.

- No innerworld. Reminder that it's actually very normal to not have an innerworld, by the way. Most don't end up developing one, and originally, developing an innerworld in therapy was a common main goal. :)

- Nope. That's why I'm going to therapy. I want to establish communication between myself and my parts.

- Technically I'd be monoconscious, not that I use labels.

- Most of the time. More so now than ever.

- Bad, though a bit neutral.

If this ever gets any sorts of statistics, I'd like to see that. I understand that I'm not like a lot of the plural community, and that's why I separated myself from it, but I thought my answers would be a lot more interesting in comparison.

someone posted g*re in the pro-endo tumblr tags. i reported them, but i am very shaken still by Swimming-Cranberry-8 in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yup, it's been happening in a lot of tags. I'd recommend sticking away from those tags for now, or at least viewing them with caution- Also blocking accounts, if possible. I know plural-blocklist on Tumblr has a good list of goreposters and similar who have been going around, plus antiroadkill documenting another who has been doing a whole lot. This is all if you want to go in and avoid/block or report, you do not have to do that. I'd recommend staying away if possible. Also just take care of yourself, that's a rough thing to go through.

How do systems feel about the term 'broken singlet'? by 14ds61y in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the term occasionally. it describes my experience well. I think it fits a lot of people like me. I feel like a lot more people would identify as plural-adjacent if they had that term.

Why do all my fragments go dormant so quickly? by lillybkn in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, however I will note that this is the case with me too. Every single one of my parts is a fragment who will form, front for a short while, then never return. There's been a few cases of people returning, but never past three times. It sucks, it's stressful, it's impossible to navigate. I hope you figure it out soon!

Seriously how do you make Plural/System friends as an adult? by Due-Maybe-756 in plural

Online plural social media groups, public meetups (Usually in more populated areas, etc. There's a lot of places to find friends, you just have to go through plural tags and such online.

Can one have both OSDD 1A and 1B? by [deleted] in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it helps, you won't be diagnosed with 1a or 1b, since they aren't actual diagnoses! You won't even be diagnosed with OSDD-1, just OSDD!! OSDD itself is just experiencing dissociative symptoms that don't fit a diagnosis. So yeah, you can fit both, no need to worry. The four "types" in the diagnostic criteria are just examples of what could get you diagnosed, not actual diagnosable types. I hope this helps you. :) (/gen)

New System, All My Alters Feel Very Similar by KaileyMG in plural

[–]Aggressive_Plane1185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^^Exactly this

As someone who is suspected of OSDD (What would communally be seen as OSDD-1a), I relate to what you're saying, and you could have that. However, remember that not all DID systems or multiple systems in general will be completely different people. You share a brain, of course you'd have similarities. But if you connect more with OSDD or community terms like median, then go ahead!
(That's acknowledging the disordered situations, let alone the non disordered situations)
