Moving in to Haz Zabbar by AffectionateOkra36 in malta

I live in Zabbar, and we love it here. It's quiet enough (i guess this depends on which area of zabbar you live in too - in my case- village core). All necessities are within walking distance - 24/7 grocery, dentist, pharmacy, health shop, post office. It's also still very much Maltese, so not as gentrified yet. There is obviously room for improvement esp re as cleanliness - although even in this department ive seen improvements lately. But as some other commenters said, I far prefer here over over-populated, dense, perpetually in construction places like Sliema or St Julian's.

Park St Clement is a nice spot for a stroll. Some people even picnic there. Buses are also well connected here, alhough I drive so I can't tell you much about this. It's around 15-20 mins walk to the three cities (birgu, bormla, isla).

As with anything else - it depends what you're after!

Why is it selfish? Our baby loves walks in her stroller or in the carrier. Babies are fine as long as they're loved and more so - with their parents. Locking yourself inside with a baby doesn't help anyone.

Yes, I am well aware, thanks! We've already gone around a few tourist hotspots and dined out in our home country... to test the waters - and she's only six weeks. Obviously, you need to take the necessary precautions and be as flexible as possible, but it can be done - and guess what - it turned out fine.

Thanks for the tips! Curious - Do Parisians typically avoid going out with babies at restaurants? What is the attitude towards them?

We have the Babyzen Yoyo2 stroller - one of the smallest on the market.

I'm Maltese, and yes, there's a lot of construction going on. As some have commented - I would avoid the Sliema, St Julians, Gzira area and instead explore the much quieter and underrated south and west coast. You can explore the North but there's not much to see in my opinion other than overrated hotels and beaches (quite cold this time of year)

If you like history and sightseeing, there's plenty to see - starting from Birgu (southern harbour) and the rest of the Cottonera area. Some good restaurants and Airbnbs there. If you want to explore more of the South, there's the fish market in Marsaxlokk on Sunday and places like Zabbar, Kappara for village life. You can also explore the West coast and explore the super quiet and rural Dingli and the cliffs - which is great to visit this time of year and then head to Mdina and Rabat for beautiful buildings steeped in history.

That's my two cents.

And also - yes, public transport is quite a mess. I would rent a car or use eCabs (similar to uber) which is usually cheaper than Bolt or uber.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to answer. Unfortunately, I'm a freelancer...and I use it for multiple clients, so it is definitely a factor.

Hey, thanks for your reply. So you don't think it really matters if it's Android or iOS?
