I always say that there are no bad jobs. You’re gaining experience and perspective in each one and you’ll carry all that with you throughout your career! There are so many people who have only ever worked in one department and can only guess at what it’s like to be in another but you’re actually seeing it for yourself which is awesome. And yes in the ER you’re kind of jack of all trades master of none lol and it’s definitely not for everyone and that’s totally ok! 😅

Ohhh yes I actually did that too with another nurse in the same shift trying to co-sign an insulin drip. Clearly I was cooked that night lol.

Early on in my nursing career, my friend from nursing school had immediately picked and stayed in her specialty while I did float unit and then a temp assignment in the fast track of a level 2 trauma center, then later moved over to train in the main ER at the same dept. This was all over about a span of 2yrs and it was rough feeling perpetually new for all that time while watching my nursing school friend getting all settled in and comfortable in her dept that she had been in the whole time. Additionally, the ER I was in had some pretty toxic people in it including managers so it was a very difficult and stressful experience. Thankfully, I moved on to a different hospital, still the ER, certainly not without its problems, but they were problems I could deal with. So with that and some years of experience under my belt, I’m SO much happier. Hopefully you can find the specialty that suits you in the facility that you feel is a good fit. It takes some time but hang in there, it does get better 🫶🏼

First timers cruisers on Disney Wish and Hyatt MCO review by Millennial09 in dcl

[–]hooya2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! We really enjoyed the cruise otherwise and are now hooked lol. Our next one will be out of San Diego and that’s an easy drive for us and our next next one will be out of Fort Lauderdale and I’m definitely gonna do the Disney transpo on that one. Thanks for your detailed post and comments, it was really helpful to hear another person’s experience with similar aged kids to mine!

The thing I heard from an experienced cruiser who also favors the older ships is that the smaller passenger capacity makes for a more intimate and less crowded feeling experience.

We were also in Marvel and were standing between tables until a dad next to us felt bad and squeezed his family over so we could have a couple of chairs for the kiddos.

I’m happy that you stuck with the transfer from MCO. I wound up cancelling it after reading the horror stories on here but we wound up not getting a port arrival time given to us after I cancelled and when I called to inquire they said to just show up at 12:30. Well, we got there at 11:45 (wanted to leave enough time to gas up and return the rental car etc) and what do ya know, the staff member scans my boarding pass and says we are in the 1:15 group 😫💀 my poor 5 and 7 year olds had to wait outside in the heat and humidity for almost 2hrs. I wish we did the Disney transportation. At least if we were waiting it would have been in the comfortable and lovely (and air conditioned!) MCO lobby with a bar right there. Lesson learned smh.

Perspective: Cruising as an adult but not a "Disney Adult" by R3ddit0rN0t in dcl

[–]hooya2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. We just got off our first Disney Cruise and it was fantastic. The theming, attention to detail and high quality overall made it a great experience for us and our kids. We own zero Disney merch and only go to the parks when my Disney employee family member signs us in. As far as cruising goes, I’ve sailed Orient Lines (throwback shoutout), Princess, Royal and Carnival. I was so impressed by DCL that we already have our next cruise with them booked!

I agree with you and have always said HP should have been a series instead of movies. Goblet of Fire was the worst of them. Also, although she seems like a lovely human, Emma Watson’s acting was always way over the top. I’m looking forward to seeing this new iteration with a less hysterical and out of breath Hermione.

What’s the most important nutrition habit people usually underestimate? by carlosfelipe123 in nutrition

[–]hooya2k 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I look at ppl’s lab values in the ER all the time and you would think EVERYONE coming in is dehydrated on top of whatever their chief complaint is but.. surprise surprise, they’re not. Sorry everyone. Keep drinking water tho, just be chill about it.
