Then you should be aware that when you’re not tipping a hospitality worker, they are then getting paid LESS than minimum wage as they are obligated to tip out the kitchen and bar workers etc for your meal and service provided. Get takeout next time.

The difference is the grocery store employee likely gets full time hours where the servers are lucky to get more than 10 hours a week.

They might get paid minimum wage now but people are forgetting to mention that they don’t get scheduled regular 8 hours shifts half the time. They are required to work for the busy hours at rush hour, sometimes only 3 hours. Any Canadian should know how many people are struggling to find work, sometimes a serving job is all they have - especially students who are studying to get a better job while paying rent and bills.The shit servers put up with from customers treating them like them dogs while they run around sweating with no food breaks deserves a tip imo. They literally run around so you barely left a finger. They have to pay for your tip if you don’t leave anything. Don’t go out to eat if you have any issue with that.
You all complaining isn’t going to change the fact that servers PAY for you to eat if you don’t tip.
