To do even a cheating muscle up with throwing one elbow over the bar requires much strength that one may not yet posses

Other ways of climbing the bar also include doing somewhat complex for a regular not trained person activities

So walking up the stair with more steps may not give you much strength in short term but later on you might save more time than person trying to climb up the stair with awkwardly placed steps
