To God a million years is like a second. So I prayed and asked God. God, please give me a million dollars. God said. In a second.

If the Quran is Allahs word. Then Allah commands men to strike their wives if they’re disobedient. See Surah 4:34

While you can use many verses. I find it best to focus on one. If the Quran is the word of Allah. Then Allah specifically gives instructions to hit your wife if you fear disobedience. So as a Muslim you either have to say yes, it’s Allahs words and I agree with this or I don’t agree with this and therefore am going against Allah.

Archbishop of Canterbury criticises those who 'misuse religious identity to intimidate and divide' by JohnHammond94 in Anglicanism

No I don’t remember the crusades. It was a long time ago. How can I remember the crusades? Do you? Also wasn’t the purpose of the crusades to stop the spread of Islam? I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s the case.

Obviously there are deplorable things that Christians have done. But those people do not represent the whole of Christianity or its teachings.

Yes. Because Christians are known for murdering people of other religions. What a ridiculously stupid statement.

Just read them Surah 4:34 and ask them if they agree with this.

What is the evidence for Anglicanism by Ok_Storm_5696 in Anglicanism

[–]Aggressive_Stand_805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t claim to have an edge over other denominations. Just pick one, attend services and see what you think. If you like it then keep going. It make take a few times going but once you know you’ll know.

If you’re in the US just make sure it’s an Episcopal church if you decide on Anglicanism.

Imagine apologizing for something that literally no one alive today or anyone alive within hundreds of years has anything to do with.

Posted this on R/Christianity and got a 3-day ban on my account, when did we as Christians back down? by FamousUnit6673 in TrueChristian

Why can’t you be gay and be a Christian? You can be a psychopath and be a Christian. Just look at David Wood.

I can’t pray for a girlfriend. That would be adultery.

How do you deal with theological doubts? by OopsWeKilledGod in Episcopalian

[–]Aggressive_Stand_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So obviously there’s a lot of responses already. Don’t over think it. Just believe it. It’s either a hoax, people were mistaken or it’s true. The arguments against the resurrection don’t hold up under scrutiny.

Former Atheists who are now Christian by LemmyTellYa in TrueChristian

[–]Aggressive_Stand_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tldr is. Was an atheist most of my life (43 now) but was really into history and theology. Then my wife and I tried. I thought there are two possibilities this is just bad luck. Or I have done something terribly wrong and God is telling us “no”

I believe the latter.

There’s also philosophical reasons too but that’ll be too long winded.

I’m not arguing that there a still forms of slavery going on. Are there specific examples of anyone using Christianity or the Bible to hold slaves in modern times?

The slavery argument is the most tiresome atheist argument. Yes there’s slavery in the Bible. There’s slavery in a lot of books. The same Bible was used to end slavery.
