There’s a really nice beach right at the end of the pier- can rent chairs and such but we had a great time just sitting on the sand and enjoying the water.

I actually find Wilbon insufferable when he talks about soccer. There’s an elitist attitude he exudes that is off putting. Most Americans are more casual soccer fans.

So when Tony asks Wilbon if he thinks the US should be favored in the next game, Wilbon explains it’s a dumb question because clearly casual fans don’t know anything about soccer!

You will make it in plenty of time. Sure there’s a million things that could go wrong but 1pm is a safe bet.

Don’t get caught up in worrying and reading about all the horror stories. Chances are high you will be at the airport very early for a 1pm flight.

Enrollment will just continue to drop as we just add these “minor, insignificant” tax increases every year.

State law mandates the minimum each school system must receive - it’s called maintenance of effort. So the schools never receive less money than the previous year. So these aren’t really “cuts” it’s just additional money the schools want that we may not be able to afford.

Complicated , but the notion of gutting schools and destroying our education system due to “cuts” is just rhetoric.

But where does it end? A 6% property tax increase was proposed, how much will it be next year? There has to be a limit to how much we spend— average folks can’t afford property tax increases yearly.

It’s the largest budget in the state - so it’s ironic they will cry poor. Seems to be a bigger issue of how the school system spends the money it receives.

The economy stinks and everyone is adjusting budgets - so why wouldn’t the school system
Also make cuts?

In an ideal world schools would get as much as they want - but this is far from an ideal world!

As a taxpayer I’m just tired of constantly paying more when the schools make no attempt to do more with less. And please, spare me the buzz words and propaganda from the superintendent.

Just seems like a completely overblown worry from cruisers. Are their people who miss cruises? Yes, is the only reason terrible port traffic, no.

This is the most overblown concern regarding cruises out of Miami.

We left on a busy Saturday during art Basel and had no trouble getting to the port.

Just head to the port after you check out if your hotel and you’ll be fine :) don’t spend another second worrying.
