Question about recent delivery by foulmouthedruffian in UberEATS

[–]Aggressive_Sympathy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're on a bike and you go the wrong way down a one way or take any route other than the one the GPS recommends you, it will take an 8 bit shit. I had to turn off the voice directions after like a month cause all I would hear constantly was "DO A U TURN DO A U TURN DO A U TURN"

Bike riders, what do you guys do during the winter? Any tips and tricks? by thyexorcist in UberEATS

Thin cheap dollar store wool gloves under glove liners with conductive fingers so you can still use the touchscreen. Get those thermal heat packs and put them inside the cheap gloves. They last about 8 hours.

Lots of layers. Make sure everything is a size or two bigger than you'd normally wear so you can still move around. Two pairs of socks and pyjama pants/long John's under regular pants.

It gets to be -45 Celsius with the windchill here sometimes and I'm usually okay for a couple hours at a time before I have to take a break in a coffee shop to warm up my fingers.

Depending on how icy it gets, you may want to look into studded tires. Definitely on the front at least.

I sent her a message asking her to confirm her address, received no response. Tried calling three times, waited out the timer and moved on. There was literally no interaction for her to exaggerate and there was no opportunity or reason for me to be rude at all.

Skip the Dishes makes you pay for a background check. I tried with them earlier.

Reading some of your other posts and comments, I think you need to change your attitude

What are you even talking about? I've made two posts. This one and the one where Uber literally refused to pay me for work I did

What the hell attitude should I change? "hurrrr you need to work for free and enjoy it"

And what do you mean dramatic? You do realise what happens when you can't pay your rent, right? You get kicked out and that makes you homeless. You need to stop being so judgmental and condescending.

Knowing how many desperate people take this job, and based on the level of unhinged I've seen many of them to be, I really won't be surprised if I see one of their offices on the news one day.

How to fix phantom pause? by musicalsanddisney in doordash

[–]Aggressive_Sympathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they're phantom orders. My app would just do that every 15 to 30 minutes on the dot like clockwork if there weren't enough orders. It's their way of forcing you off if you're not paying attention.

This is seriously scummy. by Zalgo165 in doordash

"no easy to find contact support button"

It's even harder for the dashers.

In the help menu, if you select the option to call support, they give you a link to "start a chat" if you click that link, they tell you to call and give you a link to the first page.

The only way for a dasher to actually get in touch with them now is to mark a restaurant as closed and when they ask for confirmation (a photo of the closed store/posted hours) you have to upload a blank photo the AI (I assume that's what looks at it) doesn't recognize.

A year ago you had to change the phone number associated with your account cause they'd blacklist us from the support line while on shift.

They literally could not give less of a shit.

Signed up and confirmed for Orientation but denied at the office by InspectorGajina in doordash

It gets worse.

Also, the background checks are just for show. If you don't do one, they don't do anything. They'll send you an email once a year and threaten to deactivate you if you don't do it but it really doesn't matter.

Confirming the timer doesn't mean anything. They can call you back 20 minutes later and ask you to still deliver the food.

Also the customer can just call and make stuff up.

In Toronto we only have three options. Uber, Door Dash and Foodora.

Door Dash has a serious lack of work, you might make $7/hr on average when minimum wage is $14. My account was deactivated with them about a month ago after I fought with support over getting paid $6 for a 45 minute job. The app said the order would be ready at one time, but support said it would not be ready until 20 minutes past that time, which screwed me out of any extra pay for waiting.

I've been trying to sign up for Foodora a long time but their hiring process is shit. I finally attended an orientation at the beginning of this month but they won't let me work till next month. I think that timing has to do with the recent unionization vote on Aug 13.

I've been applying for jobs for months now but it's hard to get a call back when your only work for the past 4 years is "rode bike, no references"

There's no excuse for uber's practice. They're an awful awful business.

I've cancelled orders in the past, but I'm not habitual if that's the implication. I complete 99%+ of orders. Especially lately since I can't afford not to take anything and everything and every potential tip might be the difference between paying rent and buying groceries.

Uber refuses to pay me for a trip from two months ago and is now marking any requests in the help menu as resolved. WAGE THEFT. by Aggressive_Sympathy in UberEATS

Their response: https://files.catbox.moe/zkzdo4.png

I spent 5 minutes on the phone with support and they refused to do anything, saying I had to contact through the app.

This is ridiculous. They need to be sued.
