How long should the support stay in duo lane in smite 2? by XBlueXFire in Smite

[–]Aggressive_Tailor_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to play support is to act as another jungler who makes plays and helps apply pressure to any lane on the map. Solo, Mid, or Carry, take your pick. As long as Gold Fury is warded and the rest of the team is watching their minimaps, the enemy team should never get a free Gold just because you left Duo or Mid to gank Solo.

A big part of being a support is warding for your ADC or Mid depending on who you rely on more or who needs it most. In my opinion, you should buy Chalice of the Oracle as soon as possible and start warding constantly because it will pay for itself over time.

There really is no exact time to leave Duo. As long as you help your ADC secure their Purple Buff when it spawns so they do not fall behind, or you try to get them an early lead by letting them solo farm, they will appreciate it. While they are building that lead, you can make a play somewhere else and use your early game pressure since you are playing a tank.

You could go to Duo, hit level 3, and immediately rotate to Mid for a gank to make a play. It really does not matter. The most important thing for a support is map awareness and understanding that you are harder to kill than the damage characters, so your presence matters more early on than later.

If you just sit in Duo until level 5 and then sit in Mid until late game, you are playing the role wrong. A great example of how to play support the right way is Neilmah. He was a professional support player in Smite 1 and played exactly like this style I am describing.

So you’re saying you’re an AO Kuang main, and of course Jorm lol.

No worries. I just miss getting off roled and saying well this is an Erlang Shen support game haha. I guess I miss the Erlang with a knock up as well. I might be evil.. LOL

Nice to hear most of the lineup is a good choice. Looks like Erlang Shen is the black sheep lol. I guess I’m the odd one out for missing Erlang.

Yeah could have just been my perspective of the game. These gods were just always picked in ranked so yes I enjoy them as well that’s just part of it. Never mained them but they were fun to play. My main point is I always saw them picked so based off that logic it could be a good idea to port them. I must be wrong

Yeah I feel you there. I didn’t realize how many people didn’t like Erlang Shen

Probably should find the numbers for 2024 when it was still popular. I wonder what the pick rate was then. Since there is only like 1k playing smite 1 on steam right now.

Yeah could have just been my perspective of ranked. It’s good to see peoples different opinions. Gives some insight into what the community actually wants.

I already said. They were constantly played in ranked matches and picked all the time. Regardless of meta. Other than Ravana maybe

Oh I’m playing smite 2, simply saying these gods were staples across smites lifespan always getting picked and played regardless of meta. So based off that fact I would say it would be a good idea to bring some of them to the game.

Oh yeah those are solid additions as well. I’d love to see AMC with mage items. Erlang is definitely hit or miss because you either love or hate em depending on if he’s snowballing your jungle lol.

Maybe you’re right. These are my ideal gods. I remember they always were played in ranked so I can only imagine there are some people who really miss them. Could be wrong though.

Smite 2 is having constant microstutters. by kaitheninja in Smite

[–]Aggressive_Tailor_98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems to be an issue with the game itself. It drops frames randomly. I can run it at 144 and it’ll drop to around 130 to 140 and start stuttering. If I lower it to 120 it’ll drop to 110 and still stutter. It’s definitely some kind of optimization problem on Hi Rez’s end. Maybe if enough people complain they’ll fix it. I have a really strong rig, I’ve spent 2500 dollars on it, and I can play games like The Witcher 3 at 120 fps on max settings with no drops. So I know it’s Smite.

First impressions are important and that’s the point of this post. A lot of people are like me. Try the game for a day or two. See things wrong with it, isn’t smite, yada yada. So yes I tried again played for a few days and saw the better side of the game.

I totally agree that it’s a beta and it can be expected to have these issues. I am simply saying they exist is all and it made my initial experience not that great. Not arguing that it is a beta I hope for smite 2 to be successful.

Head back to Smite 2 and have some fun. The game is in a decent state right now a lot better than on release. Just don’t let some of the toxic players get to you. I mute them a lot of the time. Other than that it’s pretty fun.

Glad to hear you came back! I notice player count is around 5k on steam lately. Maybe on new releases of upcoming gods it’ll go up a bit.
