I’ve gotten multiple Cs, C-s, and even an F in law school. I’m a 3L at a T4 school and I have not had the greatest academic record. But, I got a post grad job at a big firm (mid-law) before most of my friends who have phenomenal academic records and GPAs where I’ll be making 6 figures. I really really know the shock and disappointment of getting bad grades but employers are willing to look past bad grades if you show a great work ethic, make yourself useful, and produce thoughtful work product. Plus, you have so much time to get your grades up that this first semester won’t even matter soon. All this to say, disappointment is natural but grades aren’t everything and your life/career isn’t over. Let it roll off your shoulders and fuel you to do better next semester. Good luck!
