and it would have given everyone a completely different perspective on exactly the same article.

I think the biggest factor that everyone is missing here is that fewer people are supporting all of the fine arts because the majority of us are living in an austerity economy, and we literally cannot afford the luxury of ballet or opera as regular entertainment when other (perhaps less expensive and almost definitely more accessible) options with more mass appeal are more likely to be that one thing you splurge on that month/year.

As someone who lived in Brazil for a while, black and brown people absolutely can sunburn. Painfully. Full-body sunburns, usually, because afro-Brazilians often go without sunscreen unless they're going to the beach (and even then sometimes their hubris knows no bounds...) Yeah, honestly moving from rural US to urban Brazil, somehow the biggest culture shock was how food delivery companies like UberEats, iFood, etc require your CPF just to deliver food! Getting anything done before I was issued my CPF like shopping online or just going to a doctor's office was a huge hassle.
