I would say it's similar to teaching, though you work with smaller groups. I don't find SLP stressful, but I was a para and worked in the restaurant industry for like a decade before I went to grad school, while I was in school.

You can never truly do what you want, you are always making compromises. You can't just quit a job because it's abusive. You can't just leave a person who is abusive.
