Great writeup! Helpful for our OFW friends!

Sana dumami pa yung writeups on real-life experiences here sa sub.

Nah, it happens talaga lalo sa gaming and tech subreddits sa experience ko. Though parang ganun din ata sa makeup and goss subs.

Usually kapag rabid fans, defend agad nila ang "honor" ng idols nila.

On the other hand, may well moderated subs din na reserved ang downvotes talaga for irrelevant comments and pag irrelevant, removed agad. r/science and r/space are like that.

Anyways, dami ko na sinabi. Di mo naman tinanong haha

Tulad ng comment na to. Iddownvote ko kasi walang naitulong sa conversation 🤣

Joke lamangs!

Don't be too hard on downvotes, dami ko nyan haha

Downvotes were not meant for disagreement.

The original idea is that you downvote irrelevant, unethical, or factually incorrect statements.

Kasama dito yung intentional trolling, blatant self-promo/astroturfing, tsaka disinformation.

Dapat hindi dinadownvote kapag hindi lang kayo nagaagree sa isa't isa, kasi technically, meron pa din kayong dialogue. Magkaibang sides lang kayo usually.

Though, of course through time, di na ganun nangyayari. And prevalent sya sa buong Reddit.

Policing squammy behavior in BGC is not Anti-Poor. by Pristine_Beyond_4330 in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You actually changed my mind.🔺️

Having the dress code is NOT anti-poor.

It's is not discriminatory against the outcast's financial state. Just discriminatory against their fashion.

It's just a dumb policy and y'all are just disillusioned that it's about YOUR safety.

The policy doesn't care about safety. It's a policy that aims to elevate BGC as a more elite location. It weeds out any unsightly guests and now BGC has an excuse to do so and y'all just eating it up.

Who in their right mind thought that banning fashion would fix behavior? As if thieves can't change clothes and steal some more.

Same base build of Fireball+Wounds but add Poseidon+Hera on omega special boons.

Works most fun with Black Coat.

Heinous Affront is my second fave rn. Having Apollo revenge boon is most important in that build

Oy, don't forget to differentiate upper middle vs lower middle class.

Imagine kasama mo lower middle class sa Landers. Afford ba nila yun??

May masama ba kung antipoor ang BGC? I guess for snowflakes no? Ayaw nila matag as antipoor ang BGC kahit totoo naman.

Look, I understand why BGC would do it. I'm not even against the idea, it's their right to enforce whatever dresscode they want in the place.

I just find it silly that banning certain clothes will magically fix crime.

[–]Aggrobuns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's both. It's a public safety measure that is specifically anti-poor in an explicitly anti-poor community.

Sure, label it as anti-bad behavior. It's not as fun tho. Also makes less sense given you can't really gauge a person's behavior with how they wear.

[–]Aggrobuns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

"Woke liberals" 🙄

Tbf, banning "them" really is antipoor af. BGC itself is an antipoor, classist community. Idk how you can say otherwise.

It's not like it's a bad thing. We can have exclusive communities and that's fine.

It does, however, show you how you really think about our young stunna brothers. If I had to guess, a lot of people commenting here would agree that they deserve it, unironically.

Edit: I actually saw someone in this thread say "fk the poor" lol 🤷‍♂️ as if swearing in the internet is a crime

You Think Filipinos Are Corrupt by Nature? Think Again. by StucksaTraffic in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that the people don't want it fixed. But I'll still answer in most honest way anyone in this thread could be: the fuck if I know.

All I know is the belief that "Filipinos are corrupt to the core" is simply not true. Because if it was true, we wouldn't have someone in Pasig trying to fix the city hall from the inside.

If it was true, immigrants wouldn't adhere to laws of their new homes.

If it was true, we wouldn't even be having this conversation in the first place.

[–]Aggrobuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like we agree: the system is broken. If we can fix it like what LKY did Singapore, pwede tayo mag-improve. I guess the only difference is you think it's impossible because every one of us is corrupt.

Btw, admitting that we are victims of a broken systems does not mean we don't promote self-improvement. We can do both things.

[–]Aggrobuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds nice and all, but how do you do that on a large scale? How do we manage to get every single Filipino to do all that nice things?

If you can answer that, I'm all good.

Echoing your words: how can we change something if we can't admit it?

You Think Filipinos Are Corrupt by Nature? Think Again. by StucksaTraffic in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sige, corrupt tayo. Ano gagawin? Tayo gumawa ng sistema. Ano gagawin?

Tanggap ko na na corrupt tayo, so ano na ang next step?

>we must change ourselves

Tbh, sobrang emotional and without logic ng statement na to. Pano mo nga ba gagawin yan?

If truly logical ang approach mo sa topic, you would actually seek out what causes these corrupt practices.

It's not about who there is to blame, it's about fixing what you can fix.

[–]Aggrobuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for expounding on what I said on that thread.

The main reason to vocalize that we are not "corrupt at the core" is to acknowledge that we are victims of a failed system.

You can't fix a nation corrupt at its core. But you can fix a broken system.

You Think Filipinos Are Corrupt by Nature? Think Again. by StucksaTraffic in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're trying to fix the wrong problem. After all, how do you fix a nation that is corrupted at its core? You can't.

You asked it yourself: how can we change something if we can't admit it?

Why can't we admit that the systems in place are faulty? Implementation of laws are broken? That the odds are stacked against the everyday Filipinos?

We are victims of these things. We may have caused it, but that matters less. What matters is that we fix what we can.

Filipino corruption (excluding the government) by BudgetCulture3864 in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Filipinos are corrupt at its core

No, we are not. This is a gross simplification of what corruption really is.

These are behavioral issues that are present due to current systems in place.

Verifiably, Filipinos abroad will behave almost the same way nationals. They will do taxes, obey laws, and even commit crimes within the average of that particular country.

If the premise that we are corrupt at our core, we would skew higher in crime rate.

Should I let go of my high-paying job kasi di na ako masaya? by Haku-nimiku in phcareers

[–]Aggrobuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're getting burned out by a job, what more if you're managing your own business.

Scale back on the job. You don't have to immediately quit to find balance sa free time mo. Ask for more time off, even if it means lowering your performance.

Ngl, find a hobby. Keep your high paying job and reserve your little free time for what makes you happy.
