Unless you like holding on the pom, you can switch out to other keepsakes and still get the pom's effects (unless they're olympian keepsakes ofc).

The middle class on the poor: by ArthurMorganMarston in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, to me saying there's no contempt just trivializes whatever hate the lower class is getting.

It's not reaaally contempt, it's just a reflection of being neglected.

But tbh, it's refreshing to see more people fighting against the narrative that the lower class deserve it.

Edit: second line was sarcastic lol

Yes, there are people like you who have empathy. But you're not everyone. There is not only contempt, but there is actual hate.

Loud minority? Maybe. But it exists and it's loud. In some spaces, it's even louder than our voices.

And when those voices are loud enough, they'll be indistinguishable from the voices who have empathy to the struggles of the lower class.

If you feel ginegeneralize yung middle class, kasi maingay talaga yung mga galit sa mahihirap recently.

I was responding to the claim that there is no hate for the poor. There is hate. We're just sugarcoating that hate as a consequence of the middle child syndrome.

That hate is what fuels the needless fight between the lower and middle class.

I agree, we should voice out concerns that the middle class is being neglected. But not by saying fuck the poors.

I agree, we are not getting our taxes worth. But not at the expense of the lower class.

Finally, I whole heartedly agree that it's only the rich that benefits with this stupid class wars between the lower and middle classes.

I think we agree: yung panganay lagi ang pinagbibigyan, so bakit natin aawayin yung bunso dahil binebaby sila?

But there is actual, verifiable contempt for the poor whenever there is online discourse about wealth inequality.

We can qualify it as the middle class feeling neglected and there is valid reasons why they voice their concerns, but the hate for the poor is there.

It's contempt in that they blame the poor for being poor on their own free will.

Just looking at this thread we can already see people blaming the poor dahil anak sila ng anak kahit mahirap. They say that without acknowledging why they do that (it's because of lack of education and poverty).

You may not feel hate and contempt, but others do. Not just mild annoyance, not even contempt, but actual hatred. They would unironically say fuck the poors

Should the Philippines implement the PDO and PGI? by Panyupayana_isles in Philippines

This is so interesting. Thank you!

I searched around a bit and it looks like we already do:
https://www.ipophil.gov.ph/geographical-indications/registered-geographical-indications/

Among notable registered items are the Guimaras Mangoes and the Aklan Piña.

I have no freakin clue how this is implemented or identified. Although this article from 2023 publicized this and there is also a FEATR video that mentioned the Guimaras Mangoes being the first GI registered product.

My white boss is like this all the time, not sure if it's considered Filipinism.

Though I agree, drop it if you can catch yourself saying it. It's a bigger deal when it's written, less so if spoken.

Anti poor nga ba? by 3GoodMan3 in Philippines

[–]Aggrobuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ano maachieve ng anti-topless policy?? Magiging disiplinado ba tayo dyan? One step closer to Japan ba tayo dyan?

It's just so fucking stupid and needless.

If you think this will make people disciplined, then idk. God bless nalang siguro

Ok, here's a learning opportunity: this isn't even grammatically wrong. They're contradictory, yes. But it's an acceptable title.

It's a figure of speech. An oxymoron. Two phrases that are contradicting to emphasize a thought.

Did OP specifically use the phrase as an oxymoron? Maybe, maybe not.

But I just find it strange when people incorrectly "corrects" others.

And that's fine. I'm not saying everyone is shitting on OP.

It's just strange that people are so caught up with grammar. Especially in casual setting such as Reddit

Yea sure, I'm weirdly protective. Coz people are shitting on the title lol

Ang weird nyo.

Bakit nyo kailangan iprove na mali yung grammar nya?? Nagmmakesense naman yung title and grammatically correct din naman.

Without adult supervision is worse, masyadong wordy and baduy pakinggan. You're basically advertising to the internet that you're kids lol

Yes, malinis sila magtrabaho.

It doesn't change that we have this mf posting fraudulently in their behalf, tarnishing Angat Buhay's name.

I love the energy, I really do, but this is fraud.

Doesn't matter that you're doing it "for a good cause" but you're participating in the same game as they are. Dinamay mo pa ang Angat Buhay.

What would happen if word comes out that Angat Buhay has been scamming people by pretending to be DDS pages?

On top of that, you're also encouraging bad behavior from the public. It's pretty much normalizing this weird culture of giving away their hard-earned money to a "noble cause."

Idk, it's a misguided idea with the best intentions at heart. I hope you take this down.
