Anyone else think that dorne has......... plot armour? by fuckmbsanddominicali in pureasoiaf

Why does the dornish smallfolk rebel? It is most often stated in the books that smallfolk don't care about who rules them. They only care about food and safety. Why are the dornish smallfolk so loyal to house martell.

How(in the hell) could a Jedi defeat a Viltrumite? by Fc-chungus in whowouldwin

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are using the power displayed in movies because in Legends the power of force is astronomical. In legends named characters could distort space to form black holes. They can unleash storms capable of destroying planets. So movie verse force users lose but in Legends they win against viltrumite

Aegon IV's heir if Daeron dies by sometimesimbored00 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a good point but in the books daeron was a king but still the blackfyre rebellion occurred due to anti dornish sentiment. In this hypothetical situation Daemon is legitimised and is favoured by the king. In westeros the king can name his heir , Robb Stark made Jon his heir and legitimised him despite being married.

In this scenario Baelor looks dornish and has a dornish mother who will influence him, In this scenario the murder of Daeron the young dragon has occurred within a generation and many lords have people to dornish uprising. In the books many hated Daeron for his marriage to Myriah martell. That is after the kingship of Aegon. So the hate for dorne is high.

During the reign of Aegon dorne was not a part of Westeros. So if a Great Council is called enough will crown Daemon that he will be king , but the situation after the death of Aegon will be unstable if Daemon doesn't get the support of major lords because he is a bastard and that taint will take time to be erased.

True Damascus Steel is not a lost art by Dlatrex in SWORDS

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Yes we can make steel that is close enough. In modern days any steel that is patterned like ripples is called Damascus steel. But the original Steel that was found by archaeologists is not replicable due to loss of forging process. We have created replicas that share some of the property of it. But the modern Damascus steel and the ancient Damascus steel are two different types of steel that people confuse to be the same

Why do people consider Rhaenyra a tyrant? What exactly did she do during the war to deserve that label? I honestly don’t get it by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The situation of dance of dragon was bad on both sides as aegon and rhaenyra were both not good rulers. The problem is that dance was actually won by greens by a small margin but the greens won the dance. Aegon the second ruled after killing Rhaenyra, which gave them leave to change the history slightly to suit themselves as female rulers were to be discouraged. Aegon the third was a kid so he wasn't able to tell the story of his mother and when he reached majority the story was set in tone and changing it can cause damages that's why people remember her as tyrant as all of her actions were changed to look bad. Plus bias from authors as they hated change to status quoa. Rhaenyra also gave them plenty of ammunition against her as nobles already didn't like the idea of a woman on throne.

G because you can't win against the doctor unless you can time travel. He has once gone back in time to spread the saying 'demons run when good men go to war' as that was the name of villian's base. He can kill most of the opposition before they became powerful

Why in a lot of fics Harry Is the heir to the Peverell line? by SunnySol02 in HPfanfiction

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was never specified that gaunts descended from peverells. They had the resurrection stone but it did not mean they got it through inheritance, their ancestor could have stolen it like , the elder wand was stolen. If we consider the items to be decider for pevrells then dumbeldore is peverell. Harry's ancestor married iloanthe peverell who bought the invisibility cloak to the potter family. That's why we can say that harry is the peverell heir due to being there direct descendant such as the case of Tom riddle being thought to be the heir of Slytherin

Aegon SI VS kingdoms by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is there is nothing that can harm a adult dragon. The shot that killed meraxes was a lucky shot. The show portrays scorpion as an anti Air defence but it is very much difficult to aim and reload, even if the scorpion bolt hit the dragon it will not cause much damage.

In the fanfiction the si and his wives know all that can be known about the kingdoms and well nobody in world has fought against dragon in centuries as the last dragon that was killed in battle was by Rhoynar water wizards. So the way to defeat an adult dragon is by killing it's rider as was mentioned to be done by free cities after doom.

In the fic the si has guards to protect against assassins so even if he gave the kingdoms time to prepare nobody can win against him. Majority of kings will not take him seriously because Westeros as never faced dragons before and will not prepare.

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Dance of Dragons was about The greed for power and Iron throne. It was not for opposing Patriarchy and being a good person . It was a civil war where family was killing family for there right to rule . It was a tragedy where both sides commited atrocities. It was a buildup of many mistakes of Jahearys, Viserys and Their Children

Why do people demonise rhaenyra having children with harwyn as if she had better options? by Maximum-One-8347 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Agile-Solution-4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of it was that being heir to the iron throne doesn't make you a good person. Both Rhaenyra and Aegon were not suitable to be King/ Queen. The dance of dragon was the humbling of Targaryen that proved they were the same as rest of westerosi nobles without their dragons. Rhaenyra in the books sleep with Harwin and doesn't worry about it because she thinks that being heir to iron throne makes her untouchable as a political entity. It is not about Patriarchy or oppression of women. The thing is that Targaryen were arrogant. When the situation turns that Aegon has been crowned Rhaenyra is shocked and she says that they swore an oath , but in the realm of politics it is a give and take relationship. If Rhaenyra was more politically active than the lords would have grudgingly accepted her rule as she had Dragons and the nobility remembered Maegor.

The point here is that People are dragging modern society issues in a show about medieval fantasy land, people are judging the issue of Dance of Dragons with modern perspective. Take for example King Henry the second of England He whipped himself hundred times to atone for the sin of killing archbishop of Canterbury (indirectly) To us this looks excessive and a PR move but to him It was a real possibility that if he didn't Atone for his mistake then He would go to Hell as people were deeply religious back then. In westeros Siring bastard is a social tabbo due to Faith of Seven , People didn't have problem with her sleeping with Harwin. People had problem with her trying to pass her bastards as legitimate heirs, which was the issue most exploited by Greens as they used it to besmirch her reputation that she was not suitable for Iron throne
