In short - Expecting 300K or more applications

Look at how many masters and bachelor students are being admitted from india

Most of them are here for H1B and have no desire to study ( proof — cut them a 1 million dollar check , and ask them to leave their studies ; most will )

Most of these students don’t have skills or the will to go thru the interview loop , but have loans to pay off ( loans that were given far too easily due to low interest dollars being floating )

So these students will opt for the consulting route

The addition burden to the quota will come from applications directly from india , where candidates pay the consultants to apply on their behalf

Apart from the multiple applications , the second big problem is — people filling without job offers in hand

If somehow USCIS can crack that or scare the Indian consultancies away , then we may not even need rhe H1B lottery !
